Bush Enjoys Vacation As Middle East Crisis Escalates

In an effort to "prevent Palestinians from attacking towns in southern Israel with missiles," Israel today undertook its third day of offensive military airstrikes in the Palestinian territory of Gaza, raising the death toll to more than 300. The Palestinian casualty numbers have been described as the highest over such a brief period since the 1967 Six-Day war. Scores of Israelis have been wounded -- and at least one killed -- by rocket attacks fired by Palestinians. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak called the situation "all out war."

While Bush has been briefed on the situation by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, he has opted not to interrupt his final vacation as president to make a public statement on the crisis. For someone who has enjoyed the most vacation days as sitting president -- including days spent relaxing in comfort during Hurricane Katrina and in the lead-up to 9/11 -- it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that Bush prioritizes vacationing over crisis management.

Obama returns to gym, vacation

Published: December 29, 2008

KAILUA, Hawaii: President-elect Barack Obama returned Monday to a military gym where he has spent all but one morning since beginning a 12-day vacation in his native Hawaii.

Obama, his wife, Michelle, and family friend Martin Nesbitt visited Marine Corps Base Hawaii's Semper Fit Center. He did not speak with reporters but greeted about two dozen visitors after his workout.

The president-elect, who skipped the gym on Christmas, also posed for pictures.

Obama has sought to stay out of the public eye while here, opting for private meals at his $9 million rented vacation home or at a friend's house.

Saudis problem.
Anyway, he knew.
Only way he can stop Obama from moving in is to have Israel in a war with Iran....countdown.

So, how's everyone's holiday time going on Godlike? Yup, probably like mine and far from a ranch or luxury resort. I do wonder if Obamakins have even awakened to the type of leader "the one" is going to be...probably not.
Like 43, 44 is an "olygarch" and like in Russia goes to a "dachya" (resort).
Next month, the voice of improving education in America will put his two girls in an exclusive private school, Sidwell Friends Academy (same as Chelsea Clinton). At least Amy Carter went to public school (way to go Jimmy/Roselyn).
It's the beginning of "do as I say, not as I do" and I hope all those folks who voted for "change" know what they've elected. If not now, they will sooner than later.
As I listen to the refrains of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" I'm definitely seeing a parallel in Barry Sortoro.
I love the cop-out about having "just one President at a time" and while I agree, could Mr. Obama maybe just come out of his Hawaiian cabana just long enough to say that he is in touch with Bush officials and is keeping up with the situation between Palestine/Israel. Heck no bro, he's on vacation.
When Katrina hit, the story goes, Bush had issued strong instructions that he was not to be disturbed as he was "recreating" at the ranch. Finally, a frustrated aide burned a CD of the news report of all the suffering in New Orleans and slipped it under his boss' down (and probably ran like hell).
I know these guys are just puppets and front men for the real entities in charge, but could they maybe put on a good front that they are our leaders.
I think the arrogance slipped into the office of the POTUS in the Clinton administration and it's never been the same. At least grandpa Reagan and Bush put up a little better show than these upstarts.
If you don't think our Republic is on its death-bed, you are a fool.

The world at large, incl. the Arabs don't give a damn about the Palestinans. So, why are we surprised? Strategically, economically and politically they are on the wrong side of the tracks. It boils basically down to Abraham's sons and the fact that Isaac's brother Ishmeal did not turn out to "specs". The Palestinian world out there is still eating the remnants of that fate....Basically they are f...ed and the world reaction around them proves it.
