I. Day to day administration of the company’s Unix server

Argh the more I look the more I hate.

My iPhone runs unix. Yes. Really. Actually, they ALL do. Did you admin a cellphone? (Or Mobile).

Come on! What was it!?!? RS/6000, SGI Indy? How many users? Was it even a critical Unix Server?

Or was it some Linux toy?

Not sure if OP is a job hopper.. etc

Not a job hopper.
Over past 4 years had 3 jobs,
One was one i worked for 7 years ago.
Good company to work for but
they have a high burnout rate
about 2 years is the limit.

Other 2 jobs just happened to get hired
into some shitty companies.

Never ever run down a former employer..
especially not to a prospective employer
because you will not get the job.
Find something positive to say instead
it could be anything like experience
gained, excellent company to work for
etc just something positive.. and true
because if you end up on the short
list I am certainly going to make
a few calls.

tip: trim it down so that it fits on one page. most round file resumes longer than one page

Ditto. I agree.
.

That's the last thing you need to do. Nobody wants to hire someone with a one page resume.

my research (internet) disagrees with your statement.

OK. Different strokes for different folks.....

I am reading an interesting book right now.

"A Whole New Brain - Why Right-brainers Will Rule the World".

Your left brain skills are great. But what sets you apart from all the others that have the same skill? This is where the right brain comes in.

I'd take the risk and step outsidethe bounds of a 'normal' resume. Set myself apart with ART. All that left brain skill is important, it just isn't enough anymore. Take the lead and have some fun.
