Tides are caused by the DIFFERENCE in gravitational pull between the center of mass of the Earth and the surface (water) of the Earth. Because the center of mass and the surface are at different distances, there will be a difference in the force of gravity.

For the Sun, because it is so much farther away, the difference in gravitational pull between the center of mass of the Earth and the surface is smaller than the difference in gravitational pull between the center of mass and the surface from the Moon.

The Moon being closer has a greater DIFFERENCE in gravitational pull between the center of mass and the surface and thus a bigger tide. Again, this is explained in one of your own links.
