And besides, all pendulums come to a rest, the lighter and shorter ones quicker, Foucault suspended a 67 meter, 28 kilogram pendulum from the dome of the Pantheon in Paris. [ link to galileo.rice.edu] And because all pendulums do finally come to a rest it goes against exactly what these proponents of the rotating earth are trying to prove. Period. End of discussion, pendulums prove the earth doesn't rotate. Dude, whether the pendulum eventually stops or not has nothing to do with the point here. The point is that a Focault pendulum that's not on the Equator doesn't swing straight back and forth, but instead swings sideways slightly with each pass. This could only happen if the pendulum was swinging over a spherical, rotating planet.
