It was just a passport booklet.

Where were you...what was the situation, why was he pulling out his passport? Are there any places that have passports that look like that?

I would like to see a picture as well. What would be the advantage of giving members of this group a passport? Who regulates it?

It was one of those masons who likes to order as much shit that has the logo on it, mugs, pens, cuff links, toilet paper, I'm pretty sure it was just a pamphlet cover, 3rd party that he bought and put his passport in.

If you google "Masonic passport" you will find they do exist but in my opinion I think they are just collectors items etc

I was at a bank. He was asked for ID. He pulled out a clear plastic wallet thing with his passports in. He pulled the US passport off the top, to give to the teller. He put the plastic case down on the counter. It looked just like a US passport in size, color and shape.

Anyone can buy one, they are for Masons to have other lodges stamp their lodge seal in as a novelty to show all the other lodges, other than the one they belong to that they have visited. Nothing conspiracy related, sorry tin hat people.

You can buy them all you want if you are not a Mason, but if you are not a mason they are useless to you without the seal of each lodge visited or the Master of the lodges signature.

As a Freemason I would be happy to tell you what it is, as I happened to find this forum link when I was Googling "Masonic Passport" to order another one.

A Masonic Passport is a book similar to a Passport that some of us carry when we visit another lodge. We ask the Secretary or the Master of lodge sign it as a memento that we visited that lodge.

It is nothing more than a keepsake if you would.

Hope that clears it up for you.

Some say the Knights of Malta have their own travel papers, even diplomatic as they are UN observer status.

It is used to keep track of all the lodges they visit as this fellow explains.

I have never had one before and when I received it I realized that I could use it as a great way of keeping track of all the Lodges I've visited. I'm on the theshhold of starting a wave of Lodge visitations and this gift will help me create an awesome keepsake into my future.

The Masonic passport is indented as a 'visitation Log' of Lodges the Mason has attended/visited. ... It is not a replacement for One's current dues card. However, the Official Lodge stamps do carry some significance and gives the owner 'bragging rights' within his own Lodge.

I recently visited a distant Lodge for the first time. The only Brother who could vouch for me was not present. So, when the Sn Deacon asked if anyone could vouch for me, I said No, but this might help and I handed him my Passport. He look, then asked 'You have been in all these Lodges?" I replied 'yes'. The Sn Deacon then stated "I'm satisfied". ... I was and am fully capable of proving himself even without the passport.

These Passports can be used for visitation contest within a Lodge, such as:

* Who visited the most during the year
* Who traveled to the farthest Lodge

There are several Masonic Passports available commercially. I wasn't satisfied with the one I first bought. It was made with cheap copy paper. So I made my own. This is the Masonic Passport that I have made available to Masons.

No problem, everybody deserves a voice, even Mason's.

A Masonic Passport is what we use when we visit other lodges. Each different lodge we visit they will stamp it then at the end of the year you turn them in and your Master of the lodge can earn points for having his members attend other lodges.
