No we wouldn't, because the Earth is curved. Sunrise directly due east on the solstices would only happen at the Tropic of Capricorn or the Tropic of Cancer, depending on which solstice it is.

Again, on either equinox, anyone on the Earth would see the sun rise in the East and set in the West directly over the quator. The ecliptic does not matter. Nobody on Earth would see anything relating to the Earth's or Sun's position to the ecliptic. The ecliptic does not matter. So your reasoning that a round Earth would have the sun rising in the North-East and setting in the South-West is wrong. It would not be seen on Earth. It is not predicted by the round Earth model for an Earth observer. You're trying to get me to say something that you can twist towards your flawed point like you do with everyone else and I'm frankly done with you. You have repeatedly shown that you have no interest in learning.

- In summer (Y) is all day BELOW the ecliptic-plane and the sun rises north/east and sets north/west.

- In winter (Y) is all day ABOVE the ecliptic-plane and the sun rises south/east and sets south/west.


BUT the March & September equinox has a combination of both. In spring (Y) rises ABOVE the ecliptic-plane (winter) and sets BELOW it (summer). The sun should rise south/east and set north/west for March equinox. The reverse for autumn, BELOW sunrise/summer, ABOVE sunset/winter.


Translation: the middle diagram (Equinox) we all observe on earth isn't from a spherical earth-sun system, its from a flat earth-sun system.
