Would you press the shiny red button?

Lets say you were hired to sit in a room and not allowed to see any other rooms in the workplace, in the room is a chair and a BIG shiny red button on the wall that you were instructed to press every time it lit up red ,would you press the shinny red button not knowing what it would do if someone told you it was a good thing to do???
