Q: what are the best overall antibiotics (Vet grade) for people? I'm not allergic to anything, btw. And how do you figure proper dosage?

Don't know but I think it goes by weight of animal so I'd translate that to personal weight. Vet once sold me a small tube of antibiotic ointment for my cat's eyes. Sure looked the same as from a Rx. Depending on who works at the feed store, they may give you some hints.

The best bang for your buck is to buy Penicillin G inject able.

It's about $7 for 100ml bottle at any feed store. Dosage is .05 ml per lb of weight.

My kitties will NOT take pills and squirting the liquid antibiotics in their mouths turns into a huge mess.

With injectable it's once a day, quick and easy. Stick em in the scruff and they won't feel a thing.

I rescued a litter of kittens and their mom. They all had raging URI's. Would have cost me a small fortune taking them to the vet.

Put them on once a day penicillin shots, plus some good food and plenty of water.

They're all doing great and cost me very little.
