...is there any way I can supress the nightmare?

Thanks.

Supressing does not work.
It just comes back.
You have to make changes...

Many combat veterans have nightmares.
So do survivors of fatal auto accidents and rape victims.

Same technique is taught for any recurring nightmares.

Write it out.

Identify the most traumatic single thing about the dream.

Rewrite the dream with that one small change and read it just before you go to bed.

eg: Mine was a memory of me laying in the grass holding my intestines in my hands, bleeding and thinking I was dying.
I changed that to Me laying in the grass, bleeding and waiting to be taken to a doctor.

Took several weeks to make the change.

leave out the most traumatic memory or dream event, or change it to be less traumatic.
