All the data sets I know of had outages too, this is either because of an extremely powerful event which the sensitive instruments on the satellites couldn't handle or someone is screwing with the data. Or both. Hard to tell from our end. The strangest thing is the scales keep changing on all the data sets, I thought the axis are meant to be static and NOT dynamic. I haven't seen that done before. [ link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] The first outage in the Bt plot, the black line, looks like it would have spiked off the chart. The outages do tell us something though, that something powerful happened to knock the satellites out or force a shutdown and cause the agencies to censor data for whatever reason. Either way we know it spikes, probably fairly high/low. Quoting: Xenus 642724Yep , I have to agree with you there something powerful happened to knock the satellites out or force a shutdown and cause the agencies to censor data for whatever reason
