That's really weird, the density surely did spike. When the temp dropped that's when the spike of plasma density rose. Not sure if that's an error with the satellite caused by cosmic rays or something or if that is indeed the real measurements.

It did it yesterday evening as well, and that time there was a corresponding hit to the simulated magnetosphere. I'm voting for cosmic rays...

just went to look and see what the rest of it looked like during that time but they data is not there.

The spike happened but it also seems to have caused the ACE satellite to stop sensing/sending data for a period of time. You can tell by the flat lined magnetogram. There are always fluctuations, if there are none it means the data isn't there.

Hmm,now they have editet out that weird slopen on the density graph,and left an empty area..spike still there though.
These weird spikes seem to happen every now and then, would love to know what they are..

the spike is wayyyy smaller now. they edited, plain and simple. wish i had made a file of that massive spike. i noticed earlier that the pressure sims did not seem to match the density spike. well, i see they have it all cleaned up now..carry on

just got back from looking at it at nict. noticed the data is missing for what looks like to have been when the density went so off the chart. from 00:00 to 01:43..sure would like to see that.

from the images i have seen of the density...seems kinda weird that they look of the color to just be taking a moderate blow, that spike was wayyyy of the chart. i haven't seen one that went into the red or white yet...still working on the case tho..

Magnetosphere got hit today, interesting thing is that it was a very quick burst of energy at 10:13:57 UT, which made the plasma at geostationary orbit spike in density and drop in temperature. Usually it's the other way around, spike in temperature and a drop in density.

Just another proton hit INSIDE the magnetosphere by star fleet Xenus. I know of what I speak on this one. The temperature DROP was not a drop, it had been low already, and we needed some protons, so we got some protons, from a big proton shooting craft. This is HOW GOD manages things you know.

If you have been watching all this, we are not getting many coronal holes and CME's of consequence of late at all. We need the protons, and so they are given.

For the newbies, the DENSITY of yesterday, has nothing to do with the pressure image, as this was picked up by the geostationary satellites and not ACE or SOHO.

Don't worry about Candace anymore. She got herself banned and
her website turned into a ban word. She has only herself to
blame for that. Hell, I didn't even realize until 3 days
later that she got into all that trouble. Her sense of self
importance got the better of her and she get to reap the
consequences.

She's gone, at least for a while if not for good. Most of
my fellow mods are sick of her.
