Or is it that some men are just condescending and cheap? You talk about the way things used to be? Men used to pay for everything, happily. They expected nothing but the company of the woman. They expected to pay for her when they were married and to pay for the kids.

Now lots of women support themselves. Now men see women as a source of their financial support. They want women with good jobs or socail status, as in a family who gives them money.

I think it is unfair when men act like they did you a favor to take you out somewhere, and expect your affection for it. That would make women nasty in self defense.

Maybe it is the men who are materialistic thinking that they own women for buying them something.
