3 wonderful movies
has anyone seen:

the unbearable lightness of being

before sunrise

before sunset

?

these are my top 3 movies. they're the only movies which managed to touch me so so deeply and evoke emotions in me i thought didn't exist.

would like to hear what other people thought of them.

I loved Before Sunrise, but Before Sunset didn't really do it for me. Maybe it was just the fact that I really liked the chemistry between Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke.

Might I also recommend an AMAZING movie I just saw. Phoebe In Wonderland! It's not really playing in theaters, and it is not yet available on DVD...but, it is "available". Has anyone else seen this yet? I'd love to hear what other people thought of it.

Re: 3 wonderful movies
"the unbearable lightness of being" = Nice derby hat. The book is better. You might want to read other books by the author.
The other 2: about a "chance encounter" with a lot of talking about it? The movie promotions didn't get me into the theater to listen to these kids' concerns and constant talking at each other... Would they still be relevant to people who aren't rich, pretty, white and idle?

There's an undercurrent of creepiness to the unbearable lightness of being don't you think?

It's a good movie but still...

Re: 3 wonderful movies
I prefer movies like Boondock Saints, SelfRighteous and V for Vendetta....
I love movies where people finally grow balls, stop caring about societies messed up laws and rules and take justice into their own hands!

If I have to go on a more 'emotional' level with a movie, then we're talking Dances With Wolves
anything after 'but' is bullshit!

I've seen the Unbearable lightness of being and read it also - not the easiest of books I found, none of the characters were very easy to warm to. I seem to remember that Juliette Binoche was quite endearing in the film?

I saw Defiance, Friday. Some may be put off thinking it is just another Holocaust movie. But it is a survival movie. How to survive in the woods with Gub'mint soldiers looking for you. Great movie!
