As a solid supporter of Obama throughout the election process I can tell you that it was obvious to those of us who were aware that the whole Muslim connection was being played down by both the party and the campaign for obvious reasons. While there was no denial of his Muslim background likewise there was no attempt to garner votes by highlighting it either.

Played down would be a bit of an understatement, now played up might fit his Christian image. What about the number of his own "Fight the smears" references to all Obama-Muslim connections? How about the Sheriff in Florida who merely called him Barack Hussein Obama and swiftly was investigated by the FBI? I agree with the article, that it went beyond downplay, it was off limits and enforced as such.

So now he's like Mr Muslin roots and in his first week of foreign policy activity he practically gushing toward the most Islamic fundamentalist nations ie Iran?...C'mon...it reeks of hypocrisy. Also the more moderate Arab nations such as Saudi Arabia were non to pleased with his very friendly overtures toward Iran, was it really the wisest move to act all apologetic? Does he know how that will be viewed by all the Islamic nations? or is he displaying his lack of experience....again. Cause right now as far as I can see for results we have one of the most radical and aggressive nations telling us we're gonna have to say we are sorry and one of our more moderate allies pissed off.
