Anonymous Coward User ID: 603449 United Kingdom 01/29/2009 12:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know it means when "the shit hits the fan". I see a lot of people posting saying when TSHTF this or when the TSHTF that, but it seems everyone has a different idea of what that will be like and what will cause it. It ranges from riots, stock market crash, planet x, pole shift, and the list goes on. Quoting: Reece2076I've been smelling shit blowing in the wind for sometime now so please explain to me your view of when TSHTF. What exactly are all of you waiting for? The fan is fine. It's the people who are the shit. |

Never quite pictured why people think a third world war will break out. If people pay attention they can easily tell that WW1 and 2 were by design like all other wars. No need for another major war since most if not all people are already under control. In fact I think another major war would cause people to question things more than they do now. You've seen the effect 9/11 had haven't you? Setting up all this technology, and other control mechanisms only to destroy it would make no sense. It's no coincidence that the only nations that have wars placed upon them are those who lack western infrastructure. That said I don't even believe nuclear bombs exist, however people thinking that they exist have the desired effect on people. I'm almost certain that Pakistan and India thinking that they have them has stopped them from destroying each other by other means. Not mention that more recent easily winnable wars have be prolonged by foolish rules of engagement for whatever reasons.. |

Quoting: Reece2076Yeah, there are those types. The world technically will not end until either a very large asteroid (most likely a planetoid, look into how the moon was created) slams into it or in the next 5 billion years when our sun burns out and goes nova engulfing the majority of the inner planets. As for human mass die offs, then that is entirely possible. It has happened before, just look into the human bottleneck where humanity was reduced down to 1,000 or so mating pairs. Pole-shifts have happened and will happen again. Catastrophic volcanic eruptions have happened and will happen again (super volcano size, such as Yellowstone). Pick your poison is more like it. Just because Humans are here does not mean that things will magically stop for us. The universe and planet will continue doing their thing as if we were never here and that is a fact of life. There are also human related scenarios, all caused by us such as financial collapse which will lead to mass civil unrest/disorder ushering in an age of anarchy rule. We have a human created problem of food and resource scarcity that may also cause social collapse. We have social engineering which may also tear us apart as self centered greed causes humans to lust after more and more which can cause social upheaval. Personally, my motto is hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Things have happened and WILL eventually happen. There may be a lot of warnings or it may just go BOOM! without any sort of warning. Just my perspective on things. Quoting: Reece2076You are welcome. For the record, I am not a doomer but rather a realist. Running around screaming like little girls that the sky is falling is an epic fail in my opinion. I also say that going around and blasting ignorance that nothing will ever happen all over the place is also an epic fail. Shit happens, that is a fact of life. We are born, we live and we will all eventually die. It is what we do in between the first part and the last part that matters. We can allow fear to cloud or judgment in how we choose to live and experience life and be a doomer. We could also allow ignorance and a naive point of view cloud our judgment, making us blind to the facts. I personally choose the path of just dealing with it the best I can, there are things I can directly affect and there are things that while I cannot directly affect them I can do my damned best to survive them and I intend on doing so. While I can prepare as best I can for things, I am aware that there are things that even the most preparation will not save me from but that is fine by me as I will do my best to deal with it if it ever happens. Until that day comes, I will live my life to the fullest that I can and enjoy each day as a gift, it isn't called the present for nothing.
