If you look at any city in any century one could honestly conclude that only a few are wholeheartedly living for God and following the commandments of Jesus Christ. Salvation by man is impossible but not for God. Look at the two thieves on the cross with Jesus. One appears saved and the other lost although neither were on "the straight and narrow path" that leads to life. The Armageddon Event will be similiar to that second thief on the cross that feared God. When WW3 starts the whole world will be like those two people crucified with Jesus. They will all be doomed and have to make their choice! I wish they would decided to follow him now. If they don't, I certainly pray and believe they will not be foolish enough to reject him later!  |

Then it occured to me: Which is harder, praying for a person or praying for a group? Are not the principles of both the same? If you can ask God to save your friend then you can ask him to save the whole nation or the whole world! Will God save the whole world? Some people will refuse salvation of their own free will....so we know everyone will not be saved. But, we can ask, pray, AND BELIEVE that the vast majority of people will be saved. I try to picture this in my mind: Our planet like the size of a golf ball and God's mercy like the size of a lake. The golfer hits the ball in the lake. It is completely and totally surrounded. Our prayers place this planet in the infinite mercy of God! We can move God with our prayers. We can cause him to relent or "change his mind" as the prayers of Moses did to save the Israelites. We can call the Mercy of God down on a world that does not really "deserve" it. As the Scripture says, "The fervent prayer of the righteous avails much," We can move God's mercy to the salvation of billions of people. I'd like to see the church pray/believe/envision this every day!!! |
