Goodbye, halcyon days...

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.

The crossing points to Gaza

:gazamap8:

Different crossings are designated for different types of humanitarian aid:

Karni Crossing: grains such as wheat, barley, soy beans, corn, sesame seeds, animal feed and aggregate

Kerem Shalom and/or Sufa Crossing: food, hygiene products, tools and raw materials for essential infrastructures, medicines and medical equipment; and a myriad of other items - ranging from school books to wheel chairs - needed by the civilian population.

Nahal Oz: diesel fuel for transportation and for the local Gaza power station, petrol, and gas for cooking and heating, according to an assessment of civilian needs mandated by the Israeli court.

Erez Crossing: two-way traffic of international organizations' staff between Israel and Gaza ; Gaza residents seeking medical treatment in Israel or the Palestinian Authority, together with the people accompanying them ("medical evacuations"); and Palestinian civilians with various humanitarian needs. This crossing is open every day, even when the other crossings are closed.

Shaky Ceasefire:
Since the end of Operation Cast Lead, the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip have violated the ceasefire 12 times. In our assessment, Hamas wants quiet in the Gaza Strip but so far does not deter the other organizations.

The Most Serious Violations Since Israel Began Holding Its Fire

The most serious violations carried out by the terrorist organizations were the following: i)

i) On the afternoon of January 20 terrorists opened fire on IDF soldiers operating near the border security fence south of the Kissufim crossing. Approximately 40 minutes later, armed Palestinians opened fire at a different IDF force near the border security fence in the central Gaza Strip; the force returned fire. In addition, 11 mortar shells were fired at IDF forces and into Israeli territory. There were no casualties.

ii) On January 25 a PFLP squad tried to launch rockets into Israeli territory. One rocket was fired and fell inside the Gaza Strip near Beit Hanoun (PalPress website, January 25, 2009). Hamas operatives shot at the squad and prevented it from continuing the attack. The PFLP issued an announcement denying its squad was attacked and stressing the organization's objection to the ceasefire or any lull arrangement with Israel (Qudsnet website, January 26, 2009).

iii) On the morning of January 27 , an IED, one of a wreath of explosive charges, was detonated in an attack on an IDF patrol moving along the border security fence north of the village of Kissufim . An anti-tank missile was also fired at the force at the same time. The IED explosion resulted in the death of an IDF soldier and the serious wounding of an officer; two other soldiers sustained minor injuries. The attack was carried out by a terrorist network linked to the global jihad . In response, the Israeli Air Force struck a motorcyclist in the Khan Yunis area who was suspected of being involved in the attack. The terrorist was Husaym Shamiya , a Hamas operative from Khan Yunis (Palestine-info website, January 27, 2009). The Israeli Air Force also attacked a number of tunnels under the Egypt-Gaza border used to smuggle weapons.

iv) On January 28 , a rocket landed in Israeli territory across from the central Gaza Strip. There were no casualties and no property damage was reported. It was the first rocket fired since the ceasefire was declared. Fatah and the PIJ claimed responsibility for the attack (Bawwabat Al-Aqsa forum, January 28, 2009). In response, the Israeli Air Force struck a facility for manufacturing weapons in the Rafah area. Various organizations, including Hamas's military-terrorist wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades , claimed responsibility for mortar shell fire. In fact no mortar shell hits or attacks were reported. (Al-Qassam website, January 28, 2009).

v) On January 29 , a rocket fell in an open area near Sderot. There were no casualties and no property damage was reported.

vi) On January 31 , a rocket fell south of the city of Ashqelon . The organization behind the attack is not yet known. There were no casualties and no property damage was reported.

vii) On February 1 there were a number of attacks: During the early morning hours three rockets were fired at western Negev villages. One fell between the buildings of a kindergarten and one in an open field. Two hours later, Palestinian terrorists shot at an IDF force patrolling the border security fence in the Kissufim area. The soldiers returned fire; there were no Israeli casualties. Two hours after that (at approximately 1100 hours) four mortar shells were fired into Israeli territory. At 1730 hours five mortar shells were fired at Israel and two soldiers sustained minor shrapnel injuries.

All Hamas asked for is for Israel to lift the seige and open the borders and it could get its own aid from other countries. Thats all they wanted and were even willing to sign a peace treaty to get it but Israel said "no".

Israel detroyed the Gaza strip and so this aid is a bare minimum of what they owe those people. especially if the NAZIs in Israel refuse to lift the seige.

IDF Confirms: Navy Intercepted Ship Enroute to Gaza
by Avraham Zuroff

(IsraelNN.com) The IDF has confirmed that an Israel Navy force intercepted, boarded, and took control of the cargo boat named "Tali" on Thursday morning. The ship, bearing the flag of Togo, was illegally attempting to enter Gaza.
Two Israeli helicopters were reported in the area at the time of the interception, which took place approximately 32 kilometers (20 miles) from the Gaza coast.

Among those on board were a reporter for the Arabic-language Al-Jazeera network, human rights activists, and former Greek Catholic archbishop of Jerusalem, Monsignor Hilarion Capucci.

Capucci, who in the 70s was accused of arms trafficking for the Palestine Liberation Army, was convicted in 1974 by an Israeli court of using his diplomatic status to smuggle arms to terrorists. An Israeli court sentenced him to 12 years in prison, but he was released after three years when the Vatican intervened.

The cargo boat, dubbed The Brotherhood, sailed from the Tripoli port in Lebanon a few days ago, docked in Cyprus, then continued to Gaza. While at sea, the cargo boat was contacted by Israeli authorities, who clarified that it would not be permitted to enter Gazan coastal waters because of security risks in the area and the current naval blockade.

The Navy initiated direct contact with the boat on Wednesday morning. In response, the boat's crew attempted to mislead the IDF by stating its intention to change the boat's destination to the port in El-Arish, Egypt.

However, during the pre-dawn hours of Thursday, the cargo ship changed its bearing, and began heading towards Gaza despite the claims made by the boat crew last evening.

Disregarding all warnings, the cargo boat entered Gazan coastal waters. The actions of the boat crew raised suspicion. The IDF believes that illegal ships could threaten security, or be used for smuggling weaponry into Gaza.

As a result of the actions taken by the boat crew, an Israel Navy force intercepted, boarded, and took control of the cargo boat, directing it towards Ashdod.

According to Al-Jazeera’s reporter aboard the ship, the navy first opened fire, then five Israeli troops boarded the boat, beating and threatening the passengers.

“They are pointing guns against us – they are kicking us. They are threatening our lives,” the reporter screamed until communications with the ship broke off.

The IDF, however, denies that gunshots were fired on board during the capture of the cargo boat.

Lebanon’s Acting President Fouad Siniora condemned the IDF interception of the boat, stating, “It is no surprise for Israel to perpetrate such an action as it has been accustomed to ignore all international resolutions and values.”

The boat crew was taken for questioning by the Israeli Police. The ship was inspected and no weaponry was found.

All humanitarian goods found on the boat will be transferred to Gaza. The crew will be transferred to Lebanon via the Rosh HaNikra border passage.

The question remains why the ship laden with humanitarian aid did not employ conventional and legal measures to bring the aid to Gaza civilians. The IDF Spokesperson Unit said in a statement that any organization or country that wishes to transfer humanitarian aid to Gaza may do so via the established crossings between Israel and Gaza with prior coordination.

Is that why Hamas is stealing Humanitarian aid??

every year .the un general assemby vote on a resoluton entitled peaceful settlement of the palestine question.and every year the vote is the same.its the whole world on one side .and --israel--usa--nauru--palau--micronesia--marshall islands---and australia--on the other side.all 22 members of the arab league favours two settlement on the june border.we now have hamas favouring that two state sett on the june border.the record shows that hamas wanted to continue the ceasefire. but only on the condition that israel ease the blockade...THE BLOCKADE INCIDENTALLY WAS IMPLEMENTED BEFORE HAHAS CAME INTO POWER IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HAMAS.long before hamas began the retaliatory rocket attack on israel.PALESTINIANS were facing a humanitariian crisis in gaza because of the blockade.the former high commissioner for human rights mary robinson described what was in gaza as a destruction of a civlisation.

the record shows that for the past 20 years or more .the entire int community has sough to settle the conflict on the june 1067 border with a just resolution of the refugee question .the record shows that in every crucial issue raised at camp david and then taba at every single point all the concessions came from the palestinians who have repeatedly expressed a willingness to settle the conflict in accordance with international law.the obstacle is the refusal of israel backed by the usa govertment to abide by international law . the usa govertment under bush.
