Some owners of foreclosed homes are stealing appliances and leaving the houses damaged and in disarray, bringing down their already-sagging values, MyFOXOrlando.com reported.

Real estate agents are complain the trashed houses are harder to sell.

Homeowners angry at banks that are forcing them out have been hauling items from their houses and selling them, the station said. They're also damaging walls and floors.

A house off Lee Vista in southeast Orange County, Fla., for instance, is missing its air conditioner, countertops, all the appliances and even the kitchen sink, according to MyFOXOrlando.com. There are stains on the rug and walls marked with crayon and punctured with holes punched into them.

"There's nothing left. They took the kitchen sink," said Orlando-area real estate agent Josh Dubin of Keller Williams.

The home sold for nearly $400,000 two years ago, when it was brand new. Now, the bank will be lucky to get $169,900 for it, the station reported.

Dubin said about one in five foreclosed homes is in a state of disarray, lowering their market value even further.

"It's these people on their way out who will sell all their appliances for $500 because they need the cash," he told the TV station.

the best way to ruin a house beyond repair is this...

get your self couple of bags of cement and mix alot of water to make it a bit light...

drop it down every open pipe in your house (sink, toilet, bathtub, sewer pipes, main water pipe) then let it set

the repair will cost the bank more than the house itself... replacing every pipe in the house means they have to redo the house...

ahaha... i think they can charge you if you fuck up the house... duno

Understandable more than amusing.

Some areas are wising up and letting people live in homes to protect them at least because even if the home owner doesn't retrieve what they feel is theirs then when they leave looters will probably trash the place.

Two wrongs don't make a right. It only shows what low class maggots those people are. I'm sure as they trashed the house and their kids watched them and felt real proud of their parents. I'm sure a picture will be in their minds many years from now of what immature juveniles they have for parents.

to the egg head... i think most people would not have their kids witness such acts

i think this is funny as hell
everyone getting evicted should take all they want then burn the place down

in the original post the real estate agent is telling the media that the home owner did all this before leaving because they got evicted
unless they have absolute proof, isn't that slander
and the home owner can sue the real estate agent?
if it happens in politics, it was planned that way

You, sir, are retarded.

First of all, what EXACTLY is the wrong being committed here? When the bank takes the collateral backing the failed loan, they have to take it in whatever shape it is in.

If you were to talk to a bankster and beg them not to take your home during these hard economic times, they will quickly remind you "You knew the risk when you invested in real estate, or you should have known".

Well, they knew the risk when they accepted collateral in a particular condition. They knew that there was a chance that they'd receive that collateral in a condition less valuable than it was when they lent the money.

The bank may own the house but not the appliances! Of course they should take them - they are theirs.

I'm sorry though - I can find NO sympathy in my heart for real estate agents - they're right up there with tax collectors.

Re: Foreclosed Home Owners Loot Homes
I saw it all the time when I sold HUD homes....:-)

look, let them do what ever they feel they have to. The laws will be changing forcing debters to carry all kinds of new responsabilities. No one ever owns nothing- the banks put up the cash--the people that "buy the house" dont have nothing, usually putting less than 5% down back in the day--the smart person in forclosure stays in the house and accepts a negotiation from the seller allowing them to live in it rent free for a year...

but if the lender makes things hard, they get to live with the consequenses. That house will be torn to shreads.
