I'm 27 and my dad is 50. I couldn't imagine laying a finger on anyone even remotely close to his age.

In 10 years, you're going to be 60, and I don't care how "young" you look now, you won't be so "young looking" at 60. Age catches up with you eventually. Why would a 40 year old woman want to be dating a 60 year old man? Or 50 and 70? 60 and 80?

If it's based on love, absolutely it will work. If it's money, then of course not.

If the woman is subconciously looking for a father because she lacked attention from her papa as a child, then sure. It'll "work".

There are two things making it a pretty bad idea though:

1. People have different rhythm in different ages. Young people think faster, speak faster, move faster, live faster. Old people will certainly feel "juvenated" by the company, but they can't possibly keep up themselves. Eventually, this will become a stumbling stone.

2. The young woman is going to want to have kids. The old man isn't going to live long enough to be there for them. The kids will need a living dad long after they move from home! Not until the thirties are they "OK" with losing a parent.

Plain biological facts here. Screw with biology if you must, but there will be consequences.

And for those who think women "go for rich elderly men": You're wrong. Research has shown women go for rich elderly men's wallets. And then they go for young men's genes. The young wives to old husbands screw around a lot.

As well they should. Older fathers are prone to give the kids worse genes. The This because our DNA deteriorates with age. Nothing you can do about it.

You may be a great guy, and feel young as ever, but the truth is, you aren't.
