Let someone else know you're going down there and when you should be back. Take enough water and snacks down with you so if you get delayed coming back you'll at least be comfortable. Bring an extra flashlight or two in case you break or lose one.

Bring a camera so you can share the pics!

Same as spelunking... 3 sources of light, enough batteries for 48 hours, enough glowsticks to put at each junction that you change from main path, emergency med supplies(space blankets, splints...), hardhats, food and lots of water.

And pray no one actually monitors these boards or else they've got your IP and will know which abandoned bunker to look for you at. ;)

We decided to carry few flashlight, water, knife, matches, video camera, photo camera, paint spray as suggested in upper post, some paper to map tunnels, some of us will have mine gear. Few extra small flashlights.

Some people say that down there are some bad energy. So i really don't scared that we will get lost, but that is something there that can damage us in spiritual way.

There are some reports that there are strange occurrences when they saw some lights coming from tunnels and strange noises.

There are maybe something that don't wish to be found.

All you need is a video camera and bunch of horny teenagers and you've got yourself a horror movie!



Seriously - as a previous person said, you essentially need caving equipment including head lamps (so hands free) spare batteries, ropes, harnesses, carabiners, and a first aid kit. Also bring enough food and water to last a few days just in case you get lost. Most importantly, don't forget to tell a friend or family member of your plans - when and where you are going, how many of you are going, the supplies you have, and when you expect to be back. If the shelter has a layout give a copy to that person.

In theory, if you have food, water, and plenty of lighting, and you mark your way out, you should live. Dangers like rusted out stair cases, etc, etc, will be around.

I would count on getting wet and dirty and hungry after awhile. At least take candy bars.

Yes you are right we planned to bring with us some led lamps they are more durable and reliable.

We don't know what country or anything else as far as where you are. Are there animals you may encounter around? I would personally probably take a machete, pistol, or both. You never know, you may want to shoot yourself before it's all over!!???

Bring a dog. His senses are way better, he will protect you, and, he will warn you if there is something up ahead.

As an added bonus, if you do get trapped down there and have to eventually resort to cannibalism, your friends will definitely want to eat the dog before they even consider eating you.

I went as close to Area 51 as humanly possible in 1995 (Tikaboo Peak, black mailbox, Use of Deadly Force Authorized sign) and shot over 400 photo's. I even have video/audio recordings of the Cammo Dudes following and watching us. Great adventure.

A nuclear shelter that large??? Wow! I wish I could go. I know a couple of people who turned old silo structures into homes, which I always thought was a cool idea, but I'm having a hard time picturing such a large shelter area. If it's abandoned and easily accessed, I wonder if it's full of rats, bums, drug dealers, etc.
