Could one of our readers familiar with astronomy (and hopefully has a telescope) from Australia kindly look up tonight and look for Jupiter? Kindly check if it is on fire? Thank you. This is silly.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 606636It doesn't matter whether you live in Australia or Arizona, Jupiter is difficult to see, since it rises only about fifteen minutes before sunrise and sets about an hour and fifteen minutes before sunset. But if Jupiter had "ignited" it would be much brighter than any other object except the Sun, and would be visible all day long. But Jupiter can't ignite because it is too small (by a factor of about 80) for there to be the gravitational acceleration to cause hydrogen fusion -- which, I assume, is what poor OPie means by "ignition". The rest of OPie's posts, like his understanding of astronomy, are also pure rubbish.
