Why the hell have these big guys in the background ever allowed public access to the internet ? They'd have a much easier game without independent informed people . Are'nt they THAT MUCH powerful we think they are ? Maybe it is'nt too late to react ?

The internet is a double edge sword. As whole, we know a lot more because of it. However THEY know alot more about US because of it. THe internet was and still is a national defense infrastructure. Its not called the 'Web' for nothing...

How can we disagree, when every day, the NY Times, UK Times, Washington Post and Bloomberg report two to five more big layoffs? While I hate to be a doomsdayer, it seems inevitable that this year, and the next few are going to be very challenging. The only good that can come out of it is that many of us will go back to realizing what the really important things are in life, friends, family, integrity and values. Unfortunately, you can't eat those things, and we will have to learn to be a little more self reliant, and not count on swinging through McD's every time we are a little hungry. Those of us that make it through this will come out of it stronger, and the children from this generation will be less selfish, more self reliant, and not the protected little babys that we were raising just a year ago. Who knows, maybe they'll be the next "greatest generation"? And then it will be their kids that turn around and mess it up again 50 years from now!
