Re: The Wingmakers, The Anunnaki and 2012
Mark Hempel with his Wingmakers project did the same, but for the reason of making money alone (he then dubbed it the Immersion Concept).

On November 27, 1998, another project featuring all aspects of viral marketing[6] was launched. All the emails announcing a new web site called www.wingmakers.com were sent out by an individual calling himself Mark Hempel. The emails were addressed to CAUS (www.CAUS.org) , Citizens Against UFO Secrecy, obviously selected as the most suitable audience to place such an advertisement. For the UFO community the question was asked if they could look at it to determine if the site was a hoax or not. The impetus for asking such of the seasoned investigators was the mysterious nature behind how the Hempel was contacted to create the site and weird things that began to happen to his phone lines, etc after he had done so. Or so he claimed.

But at that time, Hempel was already cheating the public audience. Already some days before, the creator himself unveiled wingmasters.com as a marketing ploy in a message dated November 24, 1998, which he posted on a Google group:[7]

“Anyone interested in making a film for the net? I have all the content. I created the site to be the blueprint for a film or TV series. It's taken 3 years to produce all of the content. I created everything you'll see on the site. It's completed integrated. I call this Immersive Multimedia Art Forms (IMAF). IMAFs are experimental, but very powerful ways to experience art. They're ideal -- in my opinion -- for conversion into film. Only about 60% of the total content for this site is posted, but you'll see how extensive it is. It takes most people 10-12 hours to complete the site if they read/view and consider every page. You're invited. This is one of the only IMAFs on the web I know about. If you know of others, please let me know.

www.wingmakers.com

Mark”

This very early step of putting the web site into the right context (that is all was fiction and made up) was noticed only a few interested people as his explanation was NOT sent to CAUS.org, where he had kicked off this project. So up to today, there are many people out there still convinced, that the music, art and background story of the web site www.wingmakers.com is a real thing. And Mark Hempel did not attempt a second time to make them change their mind, which of course can be explained by the fact that unveiling the content of wingmaker.com naturally would remove all the occult, mysterious flair that makes Hempel actually sell books and CDs full with this faked content.. So from a salesman’s point of view, hi message from November 1998 was a big mistake, that – lucky Mark – did not receive the public attention that initially was supposed to have.

And what did the people of CAUS think of all this when they became aware, that somebody abused them for a marketing campaign ?

The reaction of Tim Edwards of CAUS dated December 3, 1998, of course was a very sharp one:

“My name is Tim Edwards and I am a member of CAUS (Citizens Against UFO
Secrecy).

Recently you transmitted a message to Peter Gersten regarding the "Wingmakers" Website, implying that it contained information regarding an ancient race of extraterrestrial beings. I (among many others) am disgusted at you juvenile attempt at deliberately misleading the entire UFO community. This attempt at a hoax, combined with the recent Eq Pegasi signal "Hoax", has caused many people to speculate on the fact that we are not alone in our
universe.”

On the web site museumofhoaxes.com, [8] an anonymous guest posted in July 2006 about Mark Hempel and viral marketing:

„The founder of this site pays some attention to Wingmakers.com in the Gallery of Hoax Websites. There is a lot more to tell, however, as it is maybe the earliest example of viral marketing.

Wingmakers.com was effectively debunked on Internet soon after it started in 1998. At the time the site pretended to exhibit alien artefacts that were found in caved-out chambers. These artifacts consisted of music tracks on mysterious discs and all sorts of paintings, which contained messages for mankind. The makers were a people from the future, called the ‚Wingmakers’. Unfortunately, not much of the original evidence that exposed the true nature of the site, is left on the web. On [link to www.rense.com] you find a contribution made by someone called Ed Wolfe. I made one myself at the time, but that one has disappeared after 7 or 8 years. (Unfortunately, on Internet there is little sense of history.)

Wingmakers.com was initially debunked, because these soundtracks from the mysterious future had the copyright of Mark Hempel imbedded. The name Hempel was linked to a company called Southbay Group (souhtbaygroup.com). The company site showed a picture of Hempel with the same sort of ‚mysterious’ painting standing in his office behind him. If I remember correctly it was the Southbay site that mentioned Hempel’s former activities as a DJ and owner of Netradio.net. This Netradio.net linked to a CD called Soulfood with exactly the same kind of music. Later on more about Hempel was found, as mentioned in Ed Wolfe’s story.

In fact this is one of the first examples of ‚viral marketing’. Mark Hempel seems to be one of the first people who invented it, trying to draw more attention to his music and paintings. Unfortunately, it seems Hempel has other problems as well, when you take a look at nowadays [link to www.wingmakers.com.] After having been debunked from all sides, Hempel had the guts to make some unbelievable adjustments to his myth, turning it into a bizarre, freaky religious system. He invented someone called “James” who is passing on messages from the unknown and who is already quite popular nowadays, I was told. In the meanwhile he succeeded in making people forget that Wingmakers.com was a complete fraud once. By now there are even offshoots like [link to www.wingmakers.co.uk.] And, best of all, Wingmakers got an undisputed entry in Wikipedia. In fact quite amazing achievements.

But it is also very irritating. The least I can do is draw your attention to it. There is a lot more to say, but this post is already too long. Make a query with Google and you will find out more.“

Hempel indeed was associated with the southbaygroup as it was indicated in the above message. The web site of the South Bay Group was created on June 8, 1997 and is registered to one Tom Mandt (mandt-tom@WORLDNET.ATT.NET ) with an address in Bloomington, MN, USA. You can find Mandt and Hempel both listed as shareholders in an “ESCROW Agreement” that deals with the merger of the NET RADIO CORPORATION and the NAVARRE CORPORATION which dates back to March 1997. [9]

Strange enough, further information about Mark Hempel can be found on an Argentinean Web site, [10] where Mark Hempel is listed as a partner.

This web site is owned by one Carlos Gualberto Becerra from Cordoba, Argentina, but may have actually nothing to do with Hempel. Why Hempel’s bio is available on that web site remains a mystery, but in the end has nothing to do with this articles subject.

Even more bizarre, the html source code of that particular web page looks like it is a 1-to-1 copy of a page originally belonging to the website www.soutbaygroup. One can read the original URL in the third line from top when viewing the html source code:

[link to www.southbaygroup.com]

A quick check on southbaygroup.com shows, that the original website is no longer available, and defers to the website www.makena-usa.com, which also belongs to the former southbaygroup, and is registered to one Ron Buck (rbuck@southbaygroup.com) with an address in Tonto Verde, AZ, USA. The domain Makena-usa.com was created on August 24, 2002.

According to the abbreviated bio provided by this Argentinean site, “Mr. Hempel’s career spans 17-years in both the software and hardware segments of the PC industry, with over 12 years of senior management experience in direct marketing and product development. Most recently, Mr. Hempel was a founder, executive and director of the Internet’s first 24-hour radio network, NetRadio Network. He was responsible for the design of its multimedia-enabled content and electronic commerce systems, which are among the most advanced on the Internet. Previously, Mr. Hempel worked with companies ranging from Microsoft to Apple Computer. He has designed and introduced numerous interactive software and Internet-related products, including award-winning, interactive textbooks for McGraw-Hill, and NetCompanion–the Internet’s first audio browser. Mr. Hempel brings extensive experience and expertise in marketing, business planning, product development and Internet-based electronic commerce systems. He has a B.A. from the University of Minnesota, with a double major in marketing and psychology.”

Taken this professional background into consideration, the statements made by Marshall Barnes as well as the one from that anonymous fellow quoted before make it easy understandable, how and why Hempel came up with the Wingmakers web site.

Winmakers.com from the start made use of the concept of viral marketing and was made public by nobody else than Hempel himself. Uncovering the real purpose of www.wingmakers.com was accomplished almost as a by-product in the course of debunking a totally different topic, which was the debunking of an alleged eye-witness of the famous Philadelphia Experiment. See www.bielek-debunked.com/Wingmaker.html for the whole story.

The case of the Wingmakers is a perfect example for showing how an artificial, home-brewed background story intended to boost sales of music CDs and books can hive off and develop a life on its own. There are quite a number of web pages and forums on the Internet – and not only within the English speaking part of the world - that still treat the Wingmakers story as if it was part of the real word, taking the claims and statements written by Hempel and his partners for granted, despite the creator himself officially and repeatedly declared that the whole story was made up by him.

On a Friday the 13th morning when the air is filled with fear and loathing, it is refreshing to read something other worldly and get one's mind off the day and onto a higher level or frequency.
I don't know what is transpiring, but I know and feel that something is most definitely up in the unseen world in which we inhabit. I keep saying that there is a mighty battle waging in the unseen world and it is reaching a crescendo. We should be honored and humbled that each and every one of us is here to be witness to all those who have come and gone before on this "mortal orb".

WingMakers is fiction. The premise for this thread is the interview with James of Project Camelot, which is largely based on the Desteni material.

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, Michael, but I am supposing that what you mean is that both Desteni and James may have been inspired by a similar or the same source which may be reliable?

Read the thread on the [link to forum.wingmakers.co.uk] entitled "WingMakers is like Desteni?". James' answers to Kerry Cassidy in his Project Camelot interview use a conceptual and verbal framework that is almost identical to Desteni and were published after Desteni appeared. That is plagiarism, not inspiration.

He also plagiarized the Urantia Book, as shown at [link to wingmakersfiles.110mb.com.]

The Urantia Book and Desteni are not legitimate sources for any kind of information whatsoever. They are scams, just like WingMakers; the only difference being James of WingMakers has started to be a little more upfront recently about the fact that all his work is sheer fantasy (see his recent communications re: Ashayana Deane's Project Camelot interviews).

im not sure it's a hoax

if this is a hoax - it's a very well done one

in 1994 when www was in its infancy i have opened a site

don't want to name it but it was a site of my hackers group

it had something to do with afterlife and software for the dead

the site has been hacked somewhere in 1995 but the hacker left no logs, nothing

what the hacker had left was a shockwave file which contained a lot of very strange material concerning afternet

at first it asked for password

we hacked into it in half an hour

it had a questioner inside which basically asked the way you wanted to die, when, the music you want to listen in afterlife and so on

it said that there is afterlife and necropolis and you can either be its citizen obeying the rules or be a coal for its fires

it told about afternet - the alternative for the internet which works for the deceased people and which is accessible to them and can even bridge two worlds

the shockwave was rich with graphics and animations and could barely run on computers of those days. we had to overclock the fastest processor to be able to see it in crappy mode.

it looked surreal. it felt surreal.

it contained a lot of information which is resonant to wingmakers and had a message for us

yesterday i have accidently bumped into this video

i researched further and found this site

[link to www.sovereignintegral.org]

and what strikes me till this very moment is that the picture is THE SAME as it has been in that shockwave file except the resolution now is better and it didn't have any (c) 2005 notices

today i come to GLP and find this thread the very moment i open it

weird

hoax?

maybe

but weird weird weird
