It seems that the Digital Audio looses sync with the Video is a real hdtv problem....

hdtv is high definition.
the digital transition/digital signal is not hdtv, its just the carrier on how it gets there.
theres analog/digital, and then theres regular defition/hd

i just reported it as all the people in a public space heard it last night at last 8 or 9 people commented on that is was weird... and it sounded like alien voices....


I dont know why it was on all stations... at least 4 as we switched stations during the problem...

the tv is 32 inch brand new best buy model with a digital antenna... it has had no problems with it

When digital signals are weak, instead of the typical snowy picture and static-y sound you will get an 'alien' sound, like slowed and garbled speech, and a pixelated picture.

I have noticed that our local PBS station also broadcasts a very high-pitched, modulated ticking sound in the evenings, which I find a bit unnerving.

It has been reported by some that after being over flown by a UFO, that their electronic equipment(car radio/home radios) began picking unrecognizable voices and sounds. In some cases this only lasted for a few days and then the equipment died and had to be replaced.

Hey OP, my antenna tv in the kitchen is 7 seconds faster than the digital in the living room. I don't know what that means,but if digital is better, shouldn't IT be faster. And if antenna is better then why mandate digital installation?

If your antenna TV is analog, then it is probably tuning to a different channel version of the one that is digital.

Our local stations have three separate versions of the same channel, some of which are off sync by a few seconds.

These different versions will probably be phased out when all stations go completely digital.

I have neither cable nor satellite connections, only a small rabbit ear antenna (until I mount a roof antenna) and when I bought my HDTV I was struck by all the channel versions I have for few original channels.

Channel 7 has three, the PBS station has two, and also two blank channels. We had a weather channel and a HDTV channel for a while but both of those are blank, now.

i have to agree with the OP, i also heard the extremely odd voice(s?) coming through the tv.
i have NEVER heard anything like it before coming over the tv.ever.

i cant describe it now, i wish i had seen this thread back then.from what i remember it was almost like a digital voice.
it DID sound like a voice...like someone was talking.

i was thinking that maybe, SOMEONE was either trying to send a message out far and wide or else some new tech was being tried out, i dont know.

we have dish network.

the voice was not loud, but only just enough to hear something was being said.

i dont remember what we were watching, i think i was reading in bed while he watched.he has it up loud so i listen and read, back and forth.

i heard it for maybe 2 minutes and afterwards i just kinda shook my head thinking what the hell kind of crap are they doing now?
it made me mad and disappointed once again and yes, kinda scared too.

it is uncomfortable, just how vulnerable these bodies are...
