In a nutshell, privitizing social security would make it like a stock traded on wall street,subject to the ups and downs that stocks go through. So if the stock market went belly-up, so would your social security.

AND it wouldn´t be overseen by public watchgroups. So, whenever they decided to steal your money and run, what´s to stop them? Think ENRON.
