Quite a few along the Rocky Mountains, though, and although there are ALWAYS eqs in Yellowstone the are moving further out recently. See usa map here: [ link to earthquake.usgs.gov] 3rd Earthquake In As Many Weeks Rattles New JerseyFor the third time in three weeks, a small earthquake has rattled an area of north-central New Jersey. No damage or injuries were reported from the 2.3 magnitude quake, which was recorded shortly before 1:42 a.m. Wednesday Scott DiGiralomo, a coordinator with the county's office of emergency management, says the epicenter was just over a mile outside Dover. It was felt mostly by people in Denville and Randolph. The quake is the third to hit Morris County since Feb. 2. A 3.0 magnitude earthquake rattled windows and alarmed residents on Feb. 2. That quake was centered in Rockaway, Dover and Morris Plains. A 2.2 magnitude quake on Valentine's Day shook residents in Boonton and neighboring Montville. |

Look at www.iris.edu/seismon/ to see the strange new earthquakes circling around the lower part of the map and up into past the coast of newfoundland. (from the right, the reykjanes ridge in the atlantic...follow right off the map now it s on the left to the indian ridge and the balderney(sp) islands and finally easter isl) these areas were totally inactive for a long time and it seems they are being pushed by whatever is also affecting new jersey. The indonesian area has been totally rocking and rolling as well. Jim Berkland (www.,syzygy.com) says full moons and to a lesser extent new moons activate quakes by the trillions of tons of water pulled around onto the fragile areas and shelves. The next strong lunar eclipse is July 7th. But there is alot of other action till the, mostly concerning drying up of money in march and june. |
