Companies now layoff to make their bottom line look better because of the huge tax credits they get for laying off employees.

Tax code should be changed so employers can get a tax credit for HIRING AND RETAINING EMPLOYEES.

Tax code should be changed so employers GET NO TAX RELIEF for layoffs. imho

They tried this in the 80's. What happened was that employers layed off employees and rehired under new job descriptions, or cut everyone's salary to the bone so they could get tax credits for retention, people had to quit, then employer gets more credits for rehiring. Little guy still gets screwed.
