It is the rcc that calls the Christian churches that formed during The Reformation, "protestant". That some of these Christians refer to themselves as "protestant" rather than simply Christian shows they seek confrontation and haven't enough awareness to avoid the rcc characterizations.
I would be happy to debate you on the misery and deception which the rcc promulgates. I am greatly relieved that my wife and I who were both former catholics have not perpetuated the rcc lies to our children who at an early age, entirely on their own, committed their lives to Christ.

2nd Timothy 2:6 "The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits." Paul says here that anyone representing/preaching God's Word must Know HIM before taking on the labours.

Believe in your church all you want.
You are not In-HIM if you are clinging to "a church" and have not been Born-Again.
Only purehearts and sinners ever give HIM their lives.
The PureHeart thinks they are the worst sinner of all, their love for HIM so pure and their desire to Know HIM so strong. Eventually they make their leap of faith and surrender because nothing else has worked.
The sinner, as I was, has run out of hope and the only Hope left for him/her is God. I could only hope/pray with all my heart (there's that line from the act of contrition), that HE would accept my offering of self.
Christianity was perverted by emperor Constantine.
The Eastern rite did not adapt roman ways. Many still feel, in error, that that church is True, but God is not about organizations and control.
Those who Know HIM, Know that others who Know HIM (that Recognition The Holy Spirit Gives of HIMSelf in Others HE Abides In), are living In-HIS-Will and do not concern themselves with critiquing Brother or Sister doing God's Will.
Can't Trust HIM? Can't accept this lack of "order"?
Well you'll never Know, much less understand.

How did the others not Know?
In their defense, they had not been endowed with The Holy Spirit. Even later Phillip says, "...show us The Father and we will believe", which exasperates Jesus. Just how inane and stubborn are humans even when confronted and Witnessed to by The Living God? Most are dumb as posts to be sure, then there is Tex!
Yet, loving HIM, Believing in HIM and having Faith in HIM is not the same as Knowing HIM.
If you Know, you are changed forever.
If you choose not to seek The Way, you remain ignorant of HIM.
These are amazing moments to be alive, even if you are sickly and unrepentant. Most Christians are banking on what they've been told which is false-witness error; yet place themselves at risk by such false doctrines they do. Only Knowing conveys awareness of God's Reality. Knowledge of The Mysteries of Heaven as Jesus Witnesses in matt 13:12.
So many Christians doubt God.
What else can explain the rapture belief? Jesus Witnesses that HIS People are preserved against all evil in John ch 17, but that ain't good enough for the doctrinaire Believers. They figure God is only what they've been told. Their minds would rest easy if they Knew HIM, but that would entail too much Trust and effort.
No effort at all, really; just make your surrender. Lots more effort expended to rationalize fables and false-witnesses. Where there is no Knowledge of HIS Truth, the stories just get wilder and wilder.
If you love Christ Jesus, can you Trust The Father?
In my book, you can't have one without the other.
Yet, Jesus Witnesses that only the very elect cannot be deceived. Why? Because in them lives/Abides God The Holy Ghost. No other reason. God doesn't allow HIS People to be deceived, and HE sure doesn't send them lying spirits.
But there is no way to simply witness to most people. They are so far gone, they hate God for their fears and base reasoning.
Anyway, all that matters is that you decide if you can Trust The Father and then take action.
From the looks of things, America is very close to being "gone in one hour". Look at Revelation 14:7 and see the near verses. God's Angel gives HIS Witness that God IS Real and Jesus/Judgment IS Coming. Thus all men Know and the Age of Faith is ended. Then Babylon falls.

Then went onto state how they "cooperated with The Holy Spirit", but were not surrendered to The Father. Cooperateed. Co-operate. See the self-will in that statement. The inanity of God turning HIS People into automatons?

Only the PureHeart or sinner will go to the lengths necessary to Seek God On HIS Terms. The Way Unto The Father is entirely according to HIS Terms.
Christ Jesus Witnesses the basic framework, but do you have the matt 16:18 ROCK?
The Father puts it all on the hearts of those HE Calls.
Many are called but few are chosen.
More like few elect/choose to make their surrender.
Yet, until you Know The Holy Spirit, you cannot Know The Truth of The Scriptures.
How many faux Christians have I encountered here who will not even recognize Christ Jesus as God The Son? Plenty here reject God's Banner to the world; Christianity. Won't call yourself a Christian because you object to the actions of what others who claim HIM do? Yet, you reject Christ!
Carnality is the cause for all sin and sickness in this world.
The soon arrival of Christ Jesus will restore God's Plan into every sphere.
Those who couldn't Trust The Father now will get their chance then.
