Ouch... strange pain in my arm.
I've had this weird pain at the top of my left arm, beneath the bicep, just above my armpit... it's sore and sensitive to the touch.

I looked some stuff up on it, and I thought it might be my lymph node. But the lymph node is actually in the armpit, I think, so...

Anyone know what it might be? It doesn't feel like a pulled muscle or anything...

Re: Ouch... strange pain in my arm.
Pain in the left arm, especially if sudden, say the last day and or transient pain, coming and going, can at times indicate a heart attack.

A mild heart attack can lead to mild pain and so on.

You should have it looked at, especially if it gets worse and there is no reason for it.

Better to spend a little money to find out you have nerve inflammation than to die and waste all that money on a funeral.
And all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us!"

And I'll look down and whisper "No."

Yikes! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!

Aye... it does feel a bit... strange. Never felt something quite like it. I noticed it a while after I woke up this morning. It's been pretty much ongoing all day.

But I'm only 24-years-old, anyway... how likely could a heart attack be at that age?

I think it might just be nerves... though, I've done nothing strenuous enough to constitute nerve damage.

No swelling that I can notice, either.

I'll just wait and see...

Keep an eye on it anyway. 24 year olds do have heart problems, especially in this time of high fat diet and sugary sodas.

Even if your rock hard in shape it could happen.

Probably not though. Most likely you slept on it wrong, but if it gets worse, get it looked at anyway.

On the good side, with the financial collapse, you most likely won't have to actually pay for the doctors visit anyway.

Well, there's a reason for me to have heart problems right there... I drink cola like a fish. I have a two-liter sitting next to me right now.

*takes a swig*

Ah, good stuff.

Oh, and I smoke. I know that can't help at all...

The Axillary Lymph node is in the arm pit. But you have different lymph nodes through out your body. And the lymph sysytem runs throughout your body.

Yes, but wouldn't you feel it inside the armpit? I've had lymph node pain before underneath my jaw, which usually coincides with a cold.

Right now, I feel as fit as a tiger, it's just this damn soreness is aggravating the hell out of me.

Re: Ouch... strange pain in my arm.
Have you started working out or doing any other-than-normal lifting lately? Or even any sudden, jerking movements with your arms? (Although I'm a huge fan of sexual innuendo, this isn't one of those instances.)

I had a pain like that 6 months or so ago. It was caused by trying to lift too much weight. It didn't feel like a pulled muscle, either. More like someone knuckle-punched me in the arm. Took awhile to heal, especially since I do a lot of lifting at work.

Are you left-handed?

No, I'm right-handed.

The only thing that I extensively use my left arm/hand to do is play guitar. I play regularly (including today and yesterday), and I get into it pretty heavy.

But I don't think I did anything to warrant this weird pain...

If it is something heart-related... hell, it could be stress. Stress can do a number on the heart and cause some physical misery.

Currently, my grandmother has been diagnosed with severe breast cancer (in addition to Alzheimer's), and the world is falling apart before my eyes.

...but I doubt it. "Stress" never caused me any physical symptoms, and I'm not hypochondriac, either.

Re: Ouch... strange pain in my arm.
Isn't like swelling or anything? Maybe just an impingement or strain in the arm/shoulder area. You can have that happen and not even realize you've done it until days later. Try gentle stretching and movement/range of motion in the area and see if you notice anything. Might give you an idea of what's going on. Hope it gets better on it's own and nothing serious.

Re: Ouch... strange pain in my arm.
thought i saw in another thread you play guitar. could be stress from that. also the mag shild has been taking yet another beating for the past 24 hrs, and it makes alot of people get weird aches and pains. could be a combination. i play guitar, and my hand just weirded out, kinda froze up and hurt last week, thumb of my right hand was the worst part, figured it was from all the years of holding a pick just wore it out and made it suseptible. it's pretty much ok now.

Re: Ouch... strange pain in my arm.
Nerves create sore spots in strange places and it indicates there is something wrong with a organ in another part of the body.

To alleviate the pain, you have to do this exercise:

1. Press a finger or a thumb into the sore spot and hold pressure on it.
2. At the same time, begin to hyperventilate, eg, breath fast for a minute or two until the pain disappears.

Could be rickets. Could be acute tennis armpit. Better come in and see me right away. Call my secretary for an appointment.

Possibly. I get weird pains in my right wrist/forearm from playing guitar and using the computer a lot.

But the pain in my left arm isn't as severe today, anyway. I can only feel it if I touch it or apply pressure to it.

Other than that, it feels a lot better than it did yesterday.

Who knows?

Like I said, the pain isn't as severe today. It could have been anything, but if the pain is wearing off, it must be getting better.

That is all.
