With the media bombardment of selling non-committal sex 24/7/365, American society has morally broken down. Kaput. Sex has become not a sacred act, but instead assigned to that of the lower consciousness where it is just another cheap high.

What is sad is so many people fall for it. Not to mention the fallout of life-threatening diseases and unwanted, unborn children plus the unwanted, disposable children that ARE born. In Washington State alone, there are 18,000 foster children.

What is obviously lacking is bonding and belonging to a family unit. People will do ANYTHING to get it (joining the military, cults, and gangs as examples). Meaningless sex and throwaway relationships NEVER do the trick.

It's all a learning curve. We'll figure it out eventually when we realize that the cost of cheap, empty sex is incredibly damaging to our collective bodies and souls.

Sex isnt over rated, the importance of "making love" is. Sex is a biological function, Love is a short term chemical imbalance in the brain.

The onus on "making love" forced down our throats by society as viewed through the media is over rated and nonsense. sex is Sex regardless of what you call it.

If what a female friend of mine says is true, you can't go on bridging that gap with sex my friend; at some point you're gonna have to "bridge the gap" before you have sex. Your woman might eventually get fed up of you avoiding your issues as a couple.

Sorry to say (not really) that he's right. "Sex" (or "making love") is really nothing more than a basic, human biological impulse... the impulse to reproduce.

Society has given it a vastly overstated importance, such as "getting laid" or, as you said, "making love".

But it's really just an inherent biological urge. Nothing special about it by itself.

You kind of prove my point, The importance of making love is something that has been force fed us through the media going back thousands of years and in the end it is just a biological function.

I used to think sex was a way of showing love. Someone said to me, "All men are dogs"...and I said not all men!

But, now that I am older, I really see the differences between men and woman and how they express "love"...

I used to seek love, even through sex sometimes. It never worked, and I didn't know why.

Now I am celebate (for the most part) and I no longer see sex as an expression of love, at least for men. To men, sex is "getting it on", and not an expression of love.

That's where I always went wrong.

I get plenty, I dont place any great importance on it. Must suck having to live up to the bullshit you get fed from the media, having to have the perfect orgasm and cum at the same time as your partner or spending hours holding on to your partner afterwards. Me personally I bust my nuts, if I havent already made my missus cum then Ill do her and then Ill go to sleep.

Did you grow to love the person you were having sex with, or did you love them first, then start having sex?

The two things are apart to begin with in our society, and are only ever really dealt with, quite vaguely.
