The selfless act and commitment behind this thread makes me almost filled with tears. Stand aside the argument if it's possible to happen or not, the action by this OP speaks for itself.
You are a true hero my friend and needs to be recognized for it. Your consideration is applauded. The effort to make the thread may turn out to save thousands or more of lives.

4000 titles are available, totaling 13 gigabytes of information made available in 44 individual downloads. This is no BS, top o the line info geared to help 3rd world communities develop their own resources and improve their living standards without reliance on any form of outside help.
You can also browse and download individual titles... The FAST Online link, provided in an earlier post, hosts a good bit of this information as do others listed on the cd3wd site.

None of us really know how this social and economic crisis is going to play out. Sporadic breakdowns in critical services and/or the supply/delivery chain are a real possibility. Total collapse is not as unthinkable as it was even a year ago. Community, and even neighborhood, organization, sanitation, gardens and so much more can be dealt with if you have the information on how to go about it effectively. It's all here.
This is the sort of collection that any community would be wise to have available in their library 'just in case'.

I wish one of my hens would go broody already... I have some 'dummies' in the nest for encouragement and now that the days are getting longer, maybe one will take the hint.
Something I am going to try this year is egg sexing. I read in some old tome that a swirled pattern on the shell (pointed end usually) meant a rooster, smooth a hen. Another one said round eggs are hens, longer pointy eggs are roosters... It seems like most of the long pointies have swirls and very few of the rounder eggs do... so the comments may support each other. Quoting: SouthernLight

It might be appropriate to mention this movement here. Would you care to tell us about The Transition Handbook and something about how this works?
This book is not available for download, but I think the concepts are going to be vital elements in real community sur-thrival.

Wll, thanks a lot for the links... i would try to download some later. There are many pdf articles free on the net relating scientific discoveries... explore. Unfortunately most things are not free but nevertheless there is a lot.
I would give you all a tip, search for my thread on Earth Expansion... there are some things that some might learn out.

I had someone tell me that if you go to a torrent search engine (like "btjunkie") and type in the word "survival", you can find lot of good and useful information. I wouldn't recommend doing it if you live in the US because of their strict copyright laws. Still, the information I've just given should be logged for a time of emergency - It could save a life.
