One day, when I had lost everything, I was sitting in the depths of despair, driving my car.
Suddenly a small piece of gravel flew up and hit my windshield, cracking it across the entire length of it.
Just as I started to feel even worse, I felt the bottom drop out of myself.
Just as I thought I hit the end of my very being, I opened up and suddenly realized, I have no end.
Neither do you, even if you don't know it personally yet!
If you have already lost everything, that means you can do anything.
What that is of course is up to you, but I recommend helping others.
It may not make a difference, but then again, maybe it will?
And all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us!"
And I'll look down and whisper "No." |

This is the best place you can be at. I sy this because 11 months ago I hit bottom. Lost everything practically. Meaning a wife and a home and things. Lost friends and even my own family didn't take out for a cup of Starbucks. So I speak from experience and not head knowledge, cliches, or beliefs. This is all a wake up call. Why such a painful wake up call ? Because we wouldn't get it any other way. Pain and suffering is God's megaphone to a deaf world as CS Lewis put it.
So now is time to do painful inquiry. Look within and do some self evaluation. Not from the mind or thoughts but the voice within you which will guide you if you are silent and listen.
The past is gone and the future is an illusion. Both are an illusion. They don't exist. So begin with the present moment and now. And work from there. I can't explain it all in one comment but I would suggest get a book or two by author Wayne Dyer, Byron Katie or Eckhard Tolle. Do this quickly so you will receive proper and truthful instruction of what is going on in your life and how to get understanding. IT took me a few months and I began to see the light and I am okay now. And my wife and I are talking. No home. Lost it. But what I gained is understanding and peace of mind. That is more valuable than anything. And it comes from within and not dependent on what happens outside of me. So this past experience is the best thing that ever happened to me. And it will be your truth as well. Hang in there. The best is yet to come. |

One thing that causes your depression is that you may not understand that you have complete worth and dignity before god - everyone does
the fact that the GF left is a side issue. Knowing your standing before god will help out the main problem, the sense of having nothing. God loves you and knows who you are, you are not alone, ever.

Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

It's good to have known real love. A lot of people never really do.
I know how you feel. And it takes a long freaking time to get over it.
But you will.
One day you might even experience the feeling that you are able to love again.
Just not anytime soon.
But the chance is there. Just for that it's worth going on. |
