So I can claim smoking pot is a requirement of my religion.

Why doesn't someone just claim that God appeared to them and told them to smoke pot in order to reach the "spirit realm"? Then all potheads can claim they believe that guy is telling the truth, that he is a "prophet", and wallah - pot through freedom of religion!

Sure. They'll arrest you at first, but if other religions could make a break away run for the mainstream after a rocky start, so could this one.

I mean, the "prophet" doesn't need to claim they ARE God or anything (that would turn the masses away), just that they were specifically told by God to smoke dope and love people.

that aint a problem. i see real white rastafarians most of the time. i know of one that married a white lady and has a few kids. it aint about being white, chinese, indian etc but fighting against babylon(america,british) system. but you got to acknowledge that haile selassie makonnen is king of kings and lord of lords. the conquering lion of judah.

The rich kids in mountain towns are called trustafarians. Because they live off their trust funds sit around drink and do drugs.
One guy in Telluride took it to a new level. His name is Rasta Stevie. He has blond dreads down to his ass. Reeks of patchouli, sells some good weed, and was even a town council member.
