I am one of these people that take advantage of safelink and trust me they aren't handing out minutes to gossip on. I get 138 minutes for an entire month. They aren't just handing them out to anyone on the street because you have to have income verification, fill out a form, swear on an affidavit...ect before you qualify for these little minutes.
I suffer from a illness called Hidradenitis suppurativa and it has no cure.
I was diagnoised at age 17 and like the rest of you self-righteous SOB's that were put on earth for the purpose of judging and gaging who is deserving to live in this world and not I worked my butt off at jobs until at age 40 when the ailment move to my groin and somedays I could not wear clothing to go to work my doctor insisted I go on disabilty after I got laid off because they couldn't fire me. Now who else is going to hire a person with a known medical condition that could make them lose days at work.
Disability isn't easy or a walk in a park to qualify for either. It's not easy to qualify and when you do it's so you can get a check for under a $1000 a month and told that you have to suffer for nearly 2 years on this plan until your insurance kicks in.
Makes sense huh? You are on dissability because you have an illness, yet now you have no insurance for the health care and you have less than a $1000.00 to pay rent, car payment that still is due (being laid off don't change that fact) credit cards that you lived off of until your money kicks in are due and calls are coming in. But America think a handout of insurance to those who can't afford it is asking to much of the people.
How many of you are a car accident, cancer, being laid off, away from being one of "those people" that everyone else assumes are lazy good for nothings that shouldn't be allowed to breath the same air that those who are working and life is currently good for.
We aren't talking about a hand out I work for my dissability. Because what you get in dissability is based on the years you worked. So if you didn't work at all, it probably would be a waste of time applying for it even if you are ill or disable because you probably could make more with less people in your business, pan handling on the streets.
If it's any concilation to those that think the poor people of the world are using them because they are still at the time of reading this one of the fortunate it is just me in my household. I'm not happy, I'm not throwing parties on your dime. I'm not calling my "Babies daddies" on your phone. As a matter of fact because of the fact I financially can't take care of children I have never and will never have them and to make sure of it I've been celebate since I lost my job 11 years ago. In spite of my needs, I did not take the 25.00 a month ebt(food stamp)card they offered me, but God hasn't let me go hungry and though my credit went down hill during all of this, I'm rebuilding it with bill consolitating which takes $280.00 of that $1000.00 up front.

So do you feel a little better about this situation now? Does this "scam" and the the poor SOB who may not be homeless and in need in the picture with Michelle Obama but some jody off the street who came in to get a picture knowing she was there because shelters are open to any and everyone. They don't ask you verify you're homeless to get a meal. Maybe some of you should go down and eat with some of them and find out they are you and at one time they had your life and maybe more.

I can't live off what the goverment gives me, so I write romances and sell them online with LULU so I can stay in my rental and not have to live in public housing or on a family member that is having hard times themselves. If it's a good month I could make an extra 200 to 500 dollars. But I'm still "working". I have a highshool education, my dreams of college dashed when at 17 I was told by my mother I had to find a job with insurance before her's lapse on me when I turned 18.

Sorry for the long posting, but life isn't as "Black and White" as people would like it to be and as far as the goverment knowing all my business and taping my phone...hey, when you have nothing to hide and you need all the help you can get, the thought of it doesn't bother you at all. Also, I use my book money to pay for a tracphone and the free phone is on a shelf for what its meant for "emergencies" when I can't afford to pay for my own minutes that month. I know my life still won't mean S*** to aot of you, because that's how selfish we've become as a people, so this is for the people who truly want to understan but couldn't put the need to a face.
