Port St. Lucie man gets loud, obnoxious at hospital, offers to buy policeman a lap dance

FORT PIERCE — A Port St. Lucie man was jailed after allegedly offering a woman $10 to give a police officer a “lap dance” and after calling officers pigs in French, according to a recently released arrest affidavit.

Richard Lemieux, 49, was at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute early Tuesday morning as a patient under the Marchman Act, a law that allows for evaluation in substance abuse cases.

Lemieux, of the 100 block of East Caribbean, was in a room with at least two other patients and was “very loud and obnoxious throughout the night.”

Lemieux, who reportedly did not heed officers’ repeated requests to lower his voice, referred to one of the patients as “a slut, a hooker, and he was telling her he would give her $10 to give myself a lap dance,” an officer wrote in the affidavit.

Lap dance commonly refers to erotic dancing popular in strip clubs in which scantily clad or nude performers dance and gyrate in very close proximity to a patron, typically for a small fee.

Lemieux said he knew the patient “from Avenue D” and was “so loud and obnoxious, he also caused one of the nurses to enter his room and ask him to lower his voice.”

That nurse speaks French and Lemieux, who also knows the language, told the nurse in French that the officers were “a couple of pigs.”

After allegedly stating, “I’ll (expletive) you up,” to one of the officers, Lemieux was arrested on misdemeanor disturbing the peace and assault charges.

Lemieux’s arrest affidavit indicates he was under the influence of alcohol
