Someone enlighten me, please. What EXACTLY are the teachers doing to indoctrinate in the students communist/socialist ideas? I would like specific examples from the curricula so that I can at least attempt to see your point of view. Sorry for asking, but I am a teacher and must be STUPID.

You're right - Doctors don't make near as much as people seem to think. They have excellent benefits but the salary isn't quite that grandiose.

We definately need a change in our screwed education system.

To be honest, some teachers (not all) are just trying to get a layback and stable job for a living including the 3 memebers in my family.

The teacher union is just way too overpowered!(200k for a superintendant?).

Our economy is in danger and almost everyone took a hit.

Why can't the union suggested all the teachers to take a 30% cut so that every teacher can get a job if they care so much about the education and kids. This is more like a business to me.

Stop the whining and complaints now. Use this opportunity to upgrade youself if you get laid off.

I am sorry to what happened but pls keep in mind that we will need fewer and fewer teachers in the furture because ppl can obtain their education online cheaper and better. that is the trend of all Ivy League college. Plus if people can work at home online, i am sure they will have more valuable time with their kids.

You know, it's really a thankless job. The superintendents earn between $250,000 and $300,000 on average and move from one district to another and every time they leave they get paid for that too. The school boards give themselves raises and squat to the teachers. The teachers are expected to do miracles at the same time somebody's delinquent kids are tearing up the classrooms so the teachers can't get control in order to teach. If the teachers complain about it, they get fired. So it's not that great anyway.
