I would suggest oil pulling with a few drops of oil of oregano.

I think Castor Oil would work as well; it draws out the infection.

A friend just came over with anbisol, and he is going to walk across the street to Walgreens to get Clove oil. Did the salt water...very strong. Tooth is driving the poor guy nuts!

I kow about the possible ramifications of infection...believe me, thsi is on my mind too.

I have an prescription fro Keflex that was my eldest son's from several months ago. He never used it, he heals real fast. (Chain saw acciden, just a nick.)

Can Keflex work to kill this infection and can I still get it filled even afetr several months???

Yes aspirin will work. I found that letting them dissolve on the infected tooth works real well and takes much less aspirin.

GARGLE with some Liquor all around the toots. I had to go through this once. It was such a relief. It kills the infection and numbs the pain.

Castor oil is known to draw out infections that are 10 cm deep; soaking a cloth in castor oil, applying it on the outside of his cheek over the tooth, then wrapping it in plastic (followed by a hot water bottle to heat it all up) should work.

Leave it on for 40 mins to an hour. It should numb the pain and draw out the infection.

Go get some of those painkillers with codeine in them, you can buy em over the counter, clove oil works well too.

However i agree with the nurse, infections can become septic, you don't want your son getting septicemia.

in my experience,anbisol does nothing, or any of the other oral gels, they are a waste of time, clove oil is the only thing that has ever worked for me personally. if clove oil fails, the only other cheap option is dentist and yanking it.

Can you use keflex for a tooth infection...YES only as long as you are getting treatment for the tooth itself! If you take the antibiotic for 7-10 days will the infection go away, yes temporarily...however the cause of the infection will still be there and the infection will return and pain will come back. The bottom line is you need to get the tooth either fixed or extracted...antibiotics and rinses is just a temp. bandaid. I know it sucks and he's in discomfort but only taking care of the problem will resolve it!!!

no i have dry socket in one but nothing like the pain of abcessed wisdom tooth go to a dental clinic and get that shit pulled out

ambisol, numzident, and other OTC numbing agents do not last long...1/2 hour at the most and again should only be used for minor toothaches till you can get into the dentist...using too much of these numbing agents over a long period of time will cause stomach problems.

That is right ! You need to take him to an ER if you have to, they cannot turn you away for no money....an infection can also spread to his heart, he needs anti-biotics !

Tylenol is the only otc painkiller that's worked for me. Just don't drink any alcohol with it! Aspirin is not a good option and DON'T put aspirin on the tooth. It eats away at your gums and enamel.

Massive vitamin C. 1000mg each hour. Salt water swishes. Hydrogen peroxide 1/2 and 1/2 with water, swish a minute and spit out--don't swallow! Tastes nasty but will help kill infection.

Go to ER at a charity hospital. Tell them you can't pay and have no insurance. They still have to treat you. Request a charity write off or offer to make small payments. What everyone says is true: if you don't kill the infection somehow it could be life threatening.

unreal...idiot, you don't get opiates (vicodin etc.) over the internet..you have any fricken idea how many patients I see a week that come into the hospital because they took a supposed pill from a friend or over the web? I'm telling you as someone who works in a hospital..take him there, they cannon refuse you service if you have no money or insurance. Sure the bill will be outrageous but you can either apply for a write off due to circumstances or just pay on it as you can! GET TO THE ER OR FIND A DENTAL CLINIC!!!

This is the best advice in the long run but in the meantime over the weekend try to get some of the clove oil that Trinity recommended. It may help take the edge off. I am really sorry for your son and pray that he can get some help soon.

oo I had a bad tooth for a couple years before I took care of it. I swished alot of listerine, or water. Excedrin helped most of the time. Once in a while I would take bread and cover the tooth. Dentist said I was crazy but it helped for drinking. Anyway. I hope the best for your son.

Once again, I know money situation sucks...do not get drugs via the internet PLEASE. I'm sure these posters mean well and trying to help but your risking a lot to save a little!!! And who's not to say your son is allergic to certain antibiotics...go get checked out first before taking any medications.
