FINANCIAL MARKET WILL STABILIZE SHORTLY (I HOPE I AM WRONG!)
I don't know about you ladies and gentleman but for some strange reason I get the feeling that the financial market will stabilize from this point on and will quickly be at the same levels it was before the crisis has begun. I hope I am wrong ... What do you think ?

There only reason I am saying I hope I am wrong is because this soceity has to wake up. Most people live in la la land however financial crisis will put them where they belong.

Too many people have it too easy and thus they feed their false outlook creating rosy fantasy while millions of people are starving. Now all of the sudden people who have been thought to be powerful because they had countless money will have nothing.

People who used to starve will keep starving. People who used to live like homeless will never feel the change. Most people in Russia for example will never feel the economic toll since they have been living in depression like state for over 60 years now. People who truly aren't going to be prepared are those who had their entire lifes too easy because they always relied on money to buy them good life. This are the people who will have it the hardest.

I suspect the confidence for the financial market is slowly returning due to the change in weather. Believe it or not warmer weather and extended day light affects human state of mind. So people tend to be more opemistic and more forthcoming.

Hey Stanislav, what about your town's local High School Meat Market? For some strange reason I get the feeling that the underage girls at your town's local High School will stabilize after you're finished scoping out and preying on the underage chicks.

Maybe my intuitive feeling was right after all. Here is an article post just 3 hours ago by Associated Press where Bernanke says that recession could end this year.

They have been successful in "pumping up" the people last week, hence the feeling of change. I think you're probably picking up on the people around you, and most people have been told things will get better now. Doesn't mean that you have to even believe it, just that you are probably empathic enough to pick up on the change in sentiment.

Me, I think there is something more sinister here. They know they could have pumped up the people with this same technique almost anywhere along the way, so why wait until now? It's either to sucker new people in, or it is to loosen some of the tension on the govt. right now. That, or some really serious &^%$ is about to hit the fan and they want a buffer zone. That's actually my vote...say a GM bankruptcy and a thousand-point drop....well, that puts us still above 6000 right? Less potential for people freaking out and going all revolutionary war on them. Just my thoughts :)

Re: FINANCIAL MARKET WILL STABILIZE SHORTLY (I HOPE I AM WRONG!)
Let's also consider the grounds of this "stabilization":

1.) Claim Citi was profitable (not counting all their bad assets though)

2.) Talk about changing mark-to-market (which really just means that they want to change the rules to make their books look better)

Considering that all the talk of stabilization is based primarily on this total B.S., any talk of the markets stabilizing is far too premature. It may look as though it's stabilized, but it is no different than repainting a house with a bad foundation. You can add coat after coat to make it look better, that doesn't mean it's not still rotten at the core. It will still fall down. What they are doing right now is unfair, by giving people hope that a failed system can somehow recover and improve. It just means people will be that much more unprepared when TSHTF for real.

Just remember, there is no such thing as a fair market with this level of governmental intervention. Until the government is out of the system, the system will never reflect it's true values.

I apologize for disagreeing with you but I am certainly not picking up this feeling from the people around me. Up until last week I was sure the doom and gloom is about to get even worse. But once I saw how the market could elevate itself in a matter of days I realized that the free market is all about the confidence of the investors. Up until last week I was planning on buying MRE (MEAL READY-TO-EAT) for up to $3000USD but I don't have the same urgency anymore. Maybe it's a false feeling of security, I don't really know. I was considering for a few days that maybe those who control the market want more suckers to invest so that they can get their hands even deeper into the pockets of gullible inverstors but I think I have changed my mind on that one.

Going by your metaphor if they repaint the house it will still be good for years to come even though it's foundation is rotten. It's easy to manipulate people into thinking the house is still strong. So my point is it's not that I trust the market but that our economy will be stabilized even if it is failed at it's foundation. People will begin to get confidence in the market once again and all will be good for another 40 years to come. I hope I am wrong ...

We agree there, except for the timeframe. In my personal opinion, they slapped a whole lot of very heavy paint on a foundation that was already ready to go...I think 40 years would be outwardly optimistic! I give it 3 if they really do a good job propping it up. Again, just my take on it.

wasnt this what was said on that alex jones movie released the other day.. that the econ would suddenly take an upturn and sucker people to invest again, then "tptb" would crash it once again, taking all the money that the rest of the world could afford?

I vaguely recall seeing that somewhere.

I just think that people like Alex Jones and other conspiracy theorists are wrong at claiming that the Elite has a direct hand at markey manipulation. In my humble opinion it's yes and know. I think they can influence the market to some extent but not quite like someone who comes to rob a bank in mid day.

I can see the link here also. I do not think the economy is going to crash this summer. Where I live many people work with the season many people are off of work in the winter. There is a slow down in business here for a few months in the spring and then it takes off end of May. The worlds economy will do nothing drastic in the summer but next fall I think it is going to collapse.

No, they are much sneakier. Remember, the "PPT" only needs to pump it a little and spin the news the right way, and the investors take care of the rest. Of course, that little push is all they really need for "confidence" to grow. Especially in a fear-driven market, where people don't want to be caught in a dive, and also don't want to miss "bottom".

I agree, they don't have full control over it (not yet anyway), but they do have enough of a hand to influence direction.

BTW OP, it's nice debating with someone without attacks flying back and forth. Very nice and civil! I gave you 5 stars for intelligent topic discussion.
