To protect the taxpayers by the Bailout Money, one senator stated this was FORCED ON CONGRESS BY THE ADMINISTRATION
Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn) wrote the original bill with states:
"shall not be construed to prohibit any bonus payment required to be paid pursuant to a written employment contract executed on or be February 11, 2009..."
This protected the AIG bonus!
White House and Congress knew about the bonuses last year and was publicly written in the media.
When questioned by Fox, Dodds said he did not put in the date and that someone changed it by adding it before the vote. The fingers point to a closed door meeting with Pelosi, Reid and Rahm Emanuel. The Repubs never had a chance to read the bill before Pelosi forced the vote.
