Rick Derringer blew Led Zeppelin Away 1978
at day on the green back in 1978...any one else see that concert? Half the time Led Zep were sitting in chairs playing...man were those guys shot out back then....it was the weekend when Robert Plant's son died too but Bill Graham wouldn't tell him untill after the show...we had to wait 2 hours after Rick Derringer finished before Led Zep came out and then finally Robert Plant walks out drinking a hinekin...we were getting crushed in front of the stage so we left...WTF...still remember it like it was yesterday thow...

Re: Rick Derringer blew Led Zeppelin Away 1978
Derringer used to put on a great high energy show, but compared to Zep for lasting value, for r&r classics? I can't think of one RD song or even riff...Many consider LZ to be the best rock band of all time and one bad show doesn't do anything to diminish that! Even Rokey Ericson has more nostalgia value than RD.
