Passover Box for Holocaust Survivors? | |
Beingsouthern User ID: 113248 United States 03/22/2009 02:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hmmm....$25 to help Holocaust survivors celebrate Passover, eh? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 517558I just saw the commercial here in Canada. I'd send money to the starving kids in Africa, etc. LONG before I'd spend cash on frigging Passover Boxes. So -- have you sent in your $25 yet? No, but curious... did you sent any money to the starving kids in Africa or any other cause? |
Emerald User ID: 616513 Canada 03/22/2009 02:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | huh? thats a weird commercial. havent seen it yet... I've sent 2 chickens to whomever the charity decided to give it to. I think I'll buy/send a goat next. I rather send farm animals or stuff to grow things. Or you can do the water purifier thing. Anonymous Coward User ID: 643461 Australia 04/02/2009 10:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Holocaust survivors suffering because they're alone and can't celebrate passover???? Do the math!!! If they survived the holocaust, providing they were alive and infants at the time, they would have grown up and lived after the war, gotten married and had children, etc. So if they are alone, it has nothing to do with the holocaust. Another SCAM!!!! Quoting: thorky 648417now in 2009 there must be so few left the jews themselves should be ashamed that theses survivours are celebrating some crank religious festival by themselves. or is this some scam to get money again? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 480609 United States 04/02/2009 11:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How about Silverstein donates some to his brethren out of his 7B of Trade Center insurance? Or maybe Madoff could contribute some of the $59B he stole. Perhaps Israel could take better care of the holocaust survivors. Lord knows they've ridden on their backs long enough to hide behind the charges of anti-semitism. Holocaust survivors = poor jews that the rich and powerful jews threw under the bus in order to garner enough sympathy and guilt to get pretty darn close to ruling the world. That's what the jewish guilt you always hear about really is. That's why they take good care of their own. Because of the "sacrifices" that have been made by their ancestors to get them to where they are today. |

me User ID: 652874 United States 04/08/2009 12:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I came here wondering if anyone knew about the passover thing, too, but I also want to say, since we're on the subject, that if people are giving goats, chickens etc., through that Heifer organization, they are being lied to as well. I used to fall for that one till I found out they are NOT giving the animals to the people who truly need them. I will give to some local charities that I know personally to be scam and greed free. The others, especially ones that can afford premium television commercials, I don't give to, no matter how heart-wrenching they are in their "production." |
HeathenGoddess User ID: 652928 United States 04/08/2009 01:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, interesting comments. I have to aggree with others that said that if your dont give fine dont sweat it. But hey why are you crapping on the Elderly Jews who survived the Holocaust? I mean come on. As for Easter, yes it is a pagan holiday from Long before the time of the Christians. Oh yes and by the way, its actually a great lil sabbat for us pagans. However, Passover is NOT a christian holiday. It is a Jewish Holiday and the Christians do not celebrate it. God doesnt hate anything or anyone. So maybe that should be looked at. Hate is exclusively a Human emotion and God is tolerant. Have a great holiday season folks. I hope you all find the peace you seem to need so badly |

Maybe 64 years seems long to you, but people that were as old as 30 could still be alive today. Secondly, you don't understand what Seder is, to the Jew it is a mandate from God. I don't know if this charity is legit or not, but you should do a little research before you open your big ignorant mouth |

Yeah... User ID: 672433 United States 05/05/2009 03:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I came on here hoping to find if the passover box has officially been debunked. Been looking at several forums and the like. This one was particularly irritating as it's the one most fraught with anti-Semitism and scapegoating. Clearly it's a scam, much like all those "help a starving child in ethiopia" scams (which, by the way, are advertised under the banner of the Christian Church). Most of the people on this forum are either A: assuming the producers of this ad are actually Jewish, B: assuming the stereotypes of Jews and their power over the media are true (ie - Fox News being primarily Jewish? Obviously you don't know many Jews), and C: that there aren't holocaust survivors still suffering. In all honesty, this ad is less about holocaust survivors, and more about the poverty that's still seen throughout rural parts of Russia and the former USSR. The ad does exploit the "holocaust card" to get our attention - but that leads me to believe it's a hoax, and most likely not one made by a Jew. And if it was made by a Jew, then they're an unsavory person, and shouldn't represent the rest of us. I really shouldn't bother with strangers on the internet, especially as most believe more-so than others that their experiential education has brought them Truth. But ... gotta allow myself to retort sometimes ... |
