Bernanke says that foreigners "needed dollars." Why yes. But if they needed dollars, they could get them in the free market. But what would have happened?

The dollar would have gotten STRONGER (gone up in value) while the other currency would have gotten WEAKER. Simple - those other banks would have had to sell something and BUY dollars on the open market. This would have resulted in imports (including especially energy) becoming cheaper.

Bernanke prevented this from having to be done. He intentionally tampered with the value of the dollar - on purpose - to the tune of $500 billion dollars. He intentionally raised the price of oil and oil products along with all other imports. Thank Ben, in part, for the price of your gasoline.

So even if the DOW does hit 9,000, it doesn't mean there's recovery and OP is an assclown.

I dunno. I've been pretty wrong with single day stock predictions before. I'm not all that bothered what the market does at the moment, as long as there isn't a total collapse.

As I've mentioned before I only follow the stock market because I'm a stats geek lol.

See-sawing at the moment, about +3.5 as I type.

futures were red. will probably be around or before lunch if we are gonna stay green today.

Saying the DOW is going to hit 9000 is statistically almost a guarantee if you not applying any time qualifier to it.

That's pretty obvious, but I'm not sure anyone is seriously saying we are at the start of a bull market right now.

how many times do we have to go through this.

i said it was going to 9000, 99% of the the rest of you said it was going to crash and go to like 5200. THAT was the prediction. get over it. AND it happened in only what, like 2 1/2 months or so? 1000 point upswing, especially in a recession/depression in even a year would be quite an accomplishment to make that call.

Bull market? this country is so far in the shitter what could possibly represent a valid reason to have a bull market?

we're trying to spend ourselves out of a shitstorm, the problem is there ain't much to spend.

The "culture of consumerism", both distored and propped up by Federal Reserve monetary manipulation, is coming to a crashing halt.

Whatever "bull market" you think your going to get will not be sustainable, unless its the result of some new economic paradigm, and not the residual profitability from the market of consuming crap fueled by bogus credit.
