While researching this, I did info pulls on businesses 'cutting wages' and 'wage deflation', as well as on lay-offs.

Where I was going is the evidence for DEFLATION rather than inflation...but I stumbled on the Bureau of Labor's little statistics page and decided that was more worthy of posting.

The point is that the government spending cannot be supported with dwindling payroll taxes (et.al.) and an ever-increasing level of spending. The balloon will 'pop' with a deafening roar.
