Obama Youth Brigade: Church Attendance Forbidden
[link to www.thevoicemagazine.com]

Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two months. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.

This bill’s title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). It forms what some are calling “Obama’s Youth Brigade.” Obama’s plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.

The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.” That means no church attendance or witnessing.

Again, is this what America voted for? Here is part of the HR1388 Bill’s wording:

SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows:

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

(1) Attempting to influence legislation.

(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.

(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

And finally

(10) Such other activities as the Corporation may prohibit.

Update: Bill passed in Senate March 26th, 2009.

Re: Obama Youth Brigade: Church Attendance Forbidden
Obama has figured out that the economic crises is an excellent opportunity to control America through money - our money.

I've noticed a trend with the Obama minions. They are using money to control. For example, when they give our money to banks then Obama says he can control what they do by increased regulations. If they give our money to Detroit then Obama can tell them what cars to make and how to run their business. If Obama gives our hard earned money to bail out Wall Street then Obama can dictate to them what kind of bonuses they can give, what kind of planes to buy etc.

And if he throws our hard earned money at the youth of America to buy their adoration then he can force them to be Goddless like he is. He will probably force them to have abortions if they produce more than two children just like the communist China government.

Re: Obama Youth Brigade: Church Attendance Forbidden
A brigade is a military unit that is typically composed of two to five regiments or battalions, depending on the era and nationality of a given army. Usually, a brigade is a sub-component of a division, a larger unit consisting of two or more brigades; however, some brigades are classified as a separate brigade and operate independently from the traditional division structure. The typical NATO standard brigade consists of approximately 4,000 to 5,000 troops. However, in Switzerland and Austria, the numbers could go as high as 11,000 troops.

A brigade's commanding officer is commonly a brigadier general, brigadier or colonel. In Imperial or Commonwealth forces, the brigadier was assisted by a brigade major who was chief of staff of the brigade.

In the armies of colonial powers, such as the British Empire, brigades frequently garrisoned isolated colonial posts, and their commanders had substantial discretion and local authority.

No but it is an imposition when you take away the choice of the people. It is control and domination of the souls when the heart of the soul is not allowed to lead the way.

One cannot force compassion upon people because compassionate action is part of a state of being, it is the active part of divine love.

Once again the government is in transgression of divine law.

I can not imagine why those of us who have been watching this train wreck develope, haven't started marching to DC with our pitchforks in tow.

So far the stimulus bill which the morons rushed through to be passed it was a bill needed immediately to save peoples lives.. so rushed were they that every single senator and congress person voted on it without reading the bill. To me that right there is reason enough to fire each and every one who voted for this bill. They were not doing what they swore to do by protecting we the citizens from financial destruction!!!!

Time to stand up somehow someway and start hollering towards dc that we know what they are attempting to do!!!!
The USA is in its most precarious state, like Rome we have lost our moral compass, have allowed our self interests to interfere with the well being of this nation. Like Rome we will fall... thanks OBAMA.. you pulled the ultimate fast one on the American people.

Under the Heading "Ineligable Organizations"... Meaning... Volenteering for church does not count as your volenteer work required during the 6 months. If you're gonna do church work, you'll be doing that whether you get grants for school anyway... Expand your realm passed that of the church... that's all this is saying. It is not by anymeans telling people they are not allowed to go to church while in GIVE...

Why not?

Why aren't chaplins forbidden to preach or teach religion while they are serving in the military, and collecting government paychecks?

and just to clarify, for everyone who still doesn't get the real meaning of that section of the bill...

"in the program" means the time that you are actually volunteering, as in on the job. this doesn't apply to the volunteers 24/7, only when they are doing actual volunteer work.

i believe that the corporation in question is the corporation for national and community service.

this particular clause just states that there may be more prohibited activities added, as things come up over time. it's pretty standard.

by the way, you still don't seem to get that this is all enforced only when the volunteers are performing volunteer work, not 24/7.

Uh, clearly you didn't understand.

Perhaps you are just blind by your apparent hate for religion and all those involved with it.

People who are part of what they are calling the "ObamaCore" , could lose their RIGHT to be preachers, clerics, or yes, even leaders of ritual magik groups, like say Wiccan and the like.

They would also lose their RIGHT to protest, and assemble, that is in the BILL OF RIGHTS!

So again, since you apparently missed it the first time, or because it is coming from a self-proclaimed Moran. If GLBT individuals, are on government programs, and have their RIGHTS revoked for being on said programs, you can understand the logic behind that?
