I take my kid to church. Do you?? If you don't, I would argue your kid's route to hell would be much more direct than mine. He likes Sunday School as long as he can bring his plastic toy soldiers.
I was conditioned in life by my Dad who was a pathological alcoholic. As a teen I was wacked on pot everyday for 4-5 years, to include the occasional LSD trip and keg parties. But I joined the military and straightened out on my own.
Today I got him the game 300 based off of the movie.
He gets bored with Sonic games.

Maybe violent video games do cause violence..................
Malcolm Palmer, 62, turned on the mother of his three children after she became hooked on the violent Grand Theft Auto driving game.
He was forced to sleep on a sofa in their conservatory as Carol Cannom, 46, stayed up all night with the 37-inch plasma television screen she brought into their room for her all-night gaming sessions.
The couple from Long Sutton, Lincolnshire. had been together for 30 years but their relationship soured after they bought the console for their 10-year-old son James.
He would play on the computer until midnight, after which Ms Cannom would take over, regularly staying up until five or six in the morning, Lincoln Crown Court was told.
"Carol quickly became hooked. He was very unhappy about the amount of time she was playing on the PlayStation," said John Pini QC for the prosecution.
The court yesterday (Monday) heard how Palmer had also become convinced that she was having an affair, and went into a violent rage when she told him she wanted him to move out in November last year, threatening that he would never get to see their children again.
That evening he attacked her with two knives, inflicting 20 separate wounds to her upper chest. The murder was overhead by their son James, who called 999 before Palmer grabbed the phone and told emergency operators: "I'm sorry. I think I've killed her."
Defence lawyer Timothy Spencer QC told the court: "The genesis of this tragedy bizarrely lies with the purchase of the PlayStation."
Palmer, who is a retired Heathrow airport worker, admitted the murder and will be sentenced on Wednesday.

OP forgets that the natural laws (gravity fi)don´t count in games.
Have you ever seen people jump three meter high etc. or being beaten nearly death and just stand up and go fight again?
A child cannot judge for himself and so by doing these games he will think this is normal laws.he cannot judge and make adifference.
Some day he´ll snap and can become some killer in the cold blood.
You feed his killerinstinct with these games.
Maybe you should be honest to yourself and ask the question, who likes those games more I or my son?
Parents always tend to give their samll children what they like themselves. Are you be willing to be honest with yourself?

You're the one who puts up your question and asks for replies. Then you berate people who answer as idiots who can't measure up to you?
Okay I'm getting the picture here of an elitist, dominating military dad. You're the one pushing the inappropriate stuff on your sweet little kid, trying to toughen him up. You have a hardcore, kill kill kill idea of what it takes to make a man and win in life and come out on top.
My guess is that by the time your kid is 16 he'll be wearing panty hose and cutting himself. By the time he's 19 he'll off you and your wife before he offs himself.

Video games build good hand eye coordination. They don't make kids violent, it's bad parenting or a lack of parenting that does that. I've been playing violent games for the last 23 years and have never been in a fight nor want to be.
It all depends on how they're raised, not what video games they play. Violence in children has always been around even before video games, so you can't blame it on that.

My kids turned me on to the Resident Evil games, can't get enough of Resident Evil 4. Good plot, good gameplay, and some of the most unusual creatures I've seen.

Some of you people are beyond restarted. There is nothing wrong with a young kid watching mature movies or playing mature games, IF the parents shows/teaches them right from wrong.
So what do you have to save to the psychos and serial killers who never even played a game? Some of your reason is just stupid. You cannot blame games, movies, and music on kid's actions. You have to be there to show them right from wrong. I saw some movies, heard some music that was mature for my (when I was little) but because my mother taught me right from wrong. I KNEW what not to do. I KNEW what was right and what was wrong.
Its not games that our misguiding children, its parents not being active in their children's life. There is a big difference. And to some of you, do you have any children? If not shut the f*** up. Plus I am more than 99.99999 % sure some of you are sitting here judging this guy, when you know damn well you've probably let a child (be it your own or someone else's) do something or see something that was a little too mature for their age. That includes movies. I've known people who let their little kids what p13. If they're not 13 why let them watch. Its the same damn thing, that goes for that this guy is doing. There is no way to spin it any other way.
