Planning vacation in Canada, need help and info
Enough with the doom and gloom and "crisis" in the economy...I'm planning my summer vacation! My son wants to go to Niagara Falls and I'm looking at a hotel on the Canada side. I'm a bit confused about the money exchange thing, does the US dollar go farther in Canada or will I be getting less for my money? Anybody have any info or tips on vacationing at Niagara Falls?

Canada is less than the us dollar (between 70 - 90 cents at any one point in time) so you are loosing out by shoping here,

and realisticly, there is no major threat to be concerned of, just don't mess with our beer, or go round flaunting your nationality, and you will blend in well.

From xe.com, 1 US Dollar = 1.24 Canadian Dollars. So you actually get more Canadian Dollars for your American dollar. That might sound like a good deal, but you might find that, with all the sales taxes and embedded taxes, products cost a heck of a lot more in Canada.

Thanks for the info! I'm considering the Howard Johnson's hotel "HoJo by the Falls" because they have a really good package deal with tickets for things the kids will like...like the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum.

If you can budget it in your trip make sure you take the maid of the mist ferry. Will really give you an awesome view of the falls!

Yes, that looks like one of the things we certainly need to do!

I'm really into bicycling...do you know of any bicycling activities around Niagara?

There is lots to do in Niagara. Not sure how long you're staying but make sure you go-to Niagara on the Lake.(If you like wine)
Also, this is a great place to stay depending how old your child is.
