Hey - lots of places have free wi-fi these days. Even if you don't have enough $$ for a latte you can go to the public library and get online for free! Gotta love the library.

been there. do you have a job? if you have no income source at the moment, you should sell the laptop (been there. didn't want to.) you can always get a new computer later. use library computers for now. get a cheap ass weekly rent motel. if you have a lot of burned cd's and dvd's with music and movies, and if you have enough cash, get a philips portable dvd/divx/avi/mp4/cd player. it's about $150 new. cheaper used on ebay maybe, but it will play pretty much any music or movie file. that will help ease things with entertainment.

as an alternative to a motel, you can live live in the car for a while (been there in snow filled winter). hopefully it's a fairly large car. try to pick up some day labor occasionally for a little money. try to find a job that suits you. one you won't want to quit after the first lunch break.

dumpster dive and find things to sell (books, copper, aluminum). don't steal. cops are bad. try to look normal. fit in.

finally, pull together enough regular income for a steady apartment or even that same cheap ass motel. keep to yourself.

Run an ad on Craigslist

Rake leaves, clean gutters, clean yards, scoop a winters worth of dog shit.

Fast cash and loads of people need clean-up help, especially during this time of year.

also, if you have any chips you call in with friends or family, this is the time to do so. it will be uncomfortable living in someone else's house with their rules and possibly living on their couch, but you got to do what you got to do, and that's what friends will do for you. try to be a good guest and not a user.

Lotta places in the US have snow on the ground right now.

OP you need to take advantage of the fact that you still have a couple of things.

Do odd jobs. Anything, mow a lawn, rake some leaves, shovel some snow in your case. Clean gutters. Do anything, you can think off for a few bucks. Never let it get you down. Sweep resturants back steps, anything!

Best to you OP!

Go to a warmer climate. Hitchike there. To Florida,California,Nevada. If it get's to hot then in May or June move to morro Bay California. they have excellent camp sites there. I personally could tell you how to live in your car in California right now but you need to get a minimum wage job when you get there. They hire fast. While youre working at a fast food place you can look for a job you are qualified for.
Question authority every time. Ask them how that makes them feel. Ask them why? Ask them when you have an opinion with your opinion and question them with that! You say that but if you don't have any family and you are homeless then you need an address. It also doesn't come right away. You have piles of paper work to do and people without kids only get food stamps and medical insurance temporaily. Also, the housing assistance may take up to three years. they don't just give you a house. you have to stay in line. It takes years...

They don't just cut you a check neither. It depends what state you are in too. I had Cancer and couldn't work. they said I wasn't eligible for money in Memphis. I was a stage 3/almost stage 4 with Cancer and the only thing they gave me was medical insurance and food stamps... Even having Cancer in Memphis I had to get a waiver in Nashville and the paper work took 5 months of waiting till I got it too.

Some states are better at giving you things than other States.

What are you talking about? In October I got here to Vegas and even though it was too hot I lived in my car. I slept in the back seat and hid at nights there sleeping .

I parked it at 24 hour fitness parking lots. I would shower at 24 and potty there. Occasioanlly worked out. I would go to the Las Vegas Library to get my free internet hook up N then after finding a job I found a furnished apartment suite with cable, electricity, and water. The whol bill for all that? 220 a week.

Rent is cheap here in Vegas but I'd go to San Diego or Los angeles for the Summer if I had to sleep in my car. There's hardly any trees here in Vegas and it get's scorching hot over the Late Spring, and Summer. You'll die of heat exhaustion living in a car.

Check out the goodwill shelters. They have soup kitchens. And if you get tired of sleeping in the car they have warm cots. You can stay for free for 21 days or something like that. Also checkout Labor Ready job source. it might be a different name where you are but you go in there and put your name on the list, sign up, pass a safety test, maybe a drug test, and wait there with the crowd and eventually a job will open up. they are jobs that don't require any experience. like cleaning up roadways, warehouses, directing traffic at construction sites...etc... it's minimum wage and you can get up to 14 hours a day! once you get a job they give you the option of returning if it's more than a days work. you get paid the same day as you work also...homeless people are always lined up at the door before it even opens smoking cigs and and bs'ing. once you get in there they have free coffee and shit. it's first come first serve for the jobs so just park your car in the lot or wherever is safe and show up early.

another thing is checkout sam's club if there is one near you. they might try to check for a membership card at the door but just say you are there to buy one and sneak back to the free samples. you can get a decent free lunch there.

also remember you are a lot better off than a lot of people.
