I was semi active in the anti apartheid protests and listening to a African American radio station in DC. Trust me on this. The world was so happy when he was released. Tears of Joy. But I do know what you mean. There was a couple I could have sworn passed on. |

Kinda like that movie where the family goes on living in their house and they here noises of "interlopers". Turns out, they were dead, and the intruders were living people, the dead didn't realize they were dead.. Sixth Sense had a similar idea. Do people who die a sudden death not realize and enter a zone where they continue where their life left off? (Vanilla Sky, sorta) Spooky! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 652302 Canada 04/07/2009 10:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Dude, Nelson Mandela is Dead. He died in 88 the same day that Bush Sr. was elected. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 634522The day George Bush killed off Nelson Mandela Nelson Mandela yesterday assured the world that, contrary to the impression given by the President of the United States, reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated. Even for a statesman as blunder-prone as George Bush, it was a gaffe of toe-curling proportions. The president's latest faux pas came as he tried to draw a tortuous link between the revered former South African leader and the sectarian violence in Iraq. Defending his stand on the war, Mr Bush said Saddam Hussein's brutality had made it impossible for a unifying leader to emerge and halt the civil warfare that has torn Iraq apart. Scroll down for more... Presidents Bush and Mandela at the White House in 2001. Mandela, contrary to a confusing Bush gaffe, is very much alive "I heard somebody say, 'Where's Mandela?'" said Mr Bush. "Well, Mandela's dead because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas," he added, to the general bemusement of the White House press corps. The South African authorities were besieged with calls after Mr Bush's speech, which was carried live by TV news networks. Many viewers feared the country's first black president and Nobel Peace Prize winner had died. Jailed for 27 years by the former apartheid government in South Africa, Mr Mandela remained a constant thorn in the side of the white minority government. Yesterday, his office put out an assurance that, at 89, he was very much alive. Achmat Dangor, chief executive officer of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, said: "It's out there. "All we can do is reassure people, especially South Africans, that President Mandela is alive." The president's allusion was all the more strained because Nelson Mandela was a strong opponent of the war in Iraq. Before the 2003 invasion, he condemned Mr Bush as "a president who can't think properly and wants to plunge the world into a holocaust". It is not the first time Mr Mandela's demise has been announced prematurely. In 2003, CNN accidentally ran his obituary on its website and earlier this year a fringe Rightwing-group claimed he had died. He was on holiday in Mozambique at the time. He retired from public life three years ago after beating prostate cancer in 2001. President Bush is known for making gaffes. He mixed up Austria with Australia in a speech in Sydney earlier this month. Then there was his unstatesmanlike "Yo, Blair" greeting to Tony Blair at the G8 summit in St Petersburg last year. His sometimes muddled syntax and mispronounciation of words such as nuclear, or as the president calls it "nukular", have long made him the butt of jokes. Supporters, however, say his folksy style has helped build his popularity with Middle America. [link to www.dailymail.co.uk] |

Quoting: Different Time Line? 652277I remember being a kid in the 80's and seeing on the news that Nelson Mandela was killed in prison. Do any of you remember that? One poster said on the other thread they thought Mickey Rooney had died years ago too and I think I also remember that. Anyone else have time line anomalies? Yes OP, I remember Mandela dying as well. Mickey Rooney I was not as sure about. With him it could have just been I thought he may have, but I was sure Mandela had died. |

Also, I have a comic book that was published in 1987, takes place in the future, and has a panel showing a memorial to Nelson Mandela, with the death date of 1989. anonymous coward User ID: 571992 United States 04/09/2009 07:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, it may not be TPTB playing with the timeline-or it could be. I have no idea. I thought Jane Goodall died in the 80's as I remember an article/story we read at school about a chimp or ape researcher who died either because a gorilla went crazy and killed her with a machete or something like that. I also thought that Mandella died in the 80's, but I also remember him getting out of prison, so I'm really confused too. I do know that the deja-vu factor is incredibly high. One has to keep in mind, though, that God exists independently of or outside of time. However, I firmly believe that if God changed a timeline or events-no one would at all be aware of it changing. God is all-powerful and fully capable, so none of us would be aware if He changed a timeline or event or 10000. However, the satanic side and the humans who are aligned with that bunch are NOT all-powerful. There is some power there permitted to them by God, but they are the more likely ones to be messing with things if humans are aware of time-line issues. I firmly believe that with God, you would never even know it happened. Of course, what do I know? |
Nikki_LaVey User ID: 649282 United States 04/09/2009 07:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In July 2001 Mandela was diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer. He was treated with a seven-week course of radiation.[116] In June 2004, at age 85, Mandela announced that he would be retiring from public life. His health had been declining, and he wanted to enjoy more time with his family. Mandela said that he did not intend to hide away totally from the public, but wanted to be in a position "of calling you to ask whether I would be welcome, rather than being called upon to do things and participate in events. My appeal therefore is: Don't call me, I will call you."[117] Since 2003, he has appeared in public less often and has been less vocal on topical issues.[118] He is white-haired and walks slowly with the support of a stick. In 2003 Mandela's death was incorrectly announced by CNN when his pre-written obituary (along with those of several other famous figures) was inadvertently published on CNN's web site due to a fault in password protection.[119] In 2007 a fringe right-wing group distributed hoax email and SMS messages claiming that the authorities had covered up Mandela's death and that white South Africans would be massacred after his funeral. Mandela was on holiday in Mozambique at the time.[120] Mandela's 90th birthday was marked across the country on 18 July 2008, with the main celebrations held at his home town of Qunu.[121] A concert in his honour was also held in Hyde Park, London.[122] In a speech to mark his birthday, Mandela called for the rich people to help poor people across the world How Can You Be Two Places At Once When You're Not Anywhere at all |
