A Course in Miracles--???
[link to www.acim.org]

Hmmm. So the background on A Course in Miracles, from the way that I understand it, is that this woman & her friend/collegue, who had important acedemic careers, took mental dictaion from The Holy Spirit and created this Course in Miracles.
The thing that I don't like about it so far, is that they tell you to only look-at one lesson a day, and the course is designed to last exactly one year.
One lesson per day.
The 1st lesson pretty much says, "everything you see is what you think it is." or something like that.
It is kind-of bossy. I don't know if I want to commit an entire year to this unless I can read the whole thing maybe.
But I feel like I'd be breaking some kind-of rule.
And why should I even follow rules that I don't understand??
Anybody do this course over the course of a year?
What if I told myself that time is not real or what I think it is and speed-through?

Re: A Course in Miracles--???
I've read it, and no I didnt do one lesson a day. The reason why it tells you that is because some of the concepts takes awhile to let sink in......it does make some good points and I do believe their is some truth in it, but it is really a lie ment to deceive.......if you are a true christian and believe the scarifice Jesus Christ made for you......then you cant believe this to be true. This book claims there is no hell and there is no sin. It claims to be the words of Jesus.......but this Jesus is contridicting the Jesus of the bible...so one has to be lying. Jesus died for our sins.......and he died to save us from everlasting judgement....hell. So although this book as some great insights to the world in general....remember demons were there at the beginning of time.....they know a lot......but they also lie. This is a channeled book of a very charming demon in my opinon. I am a avid reader, and this was one of the best written books I have yet to read, you feel like it is talking directly to you......that Jesus is sitting there talking to you....in a way that is unnatural. It really spooked me. I threw the book away. In the beginning I was very excited by it......at the end I was terrified of what it would do to peoples faith! Its ment to entice you and tell you everything you want to hear.....and if its too good to be true it probably is.

There is a lot of good stuff in it. (yes I am skimming it), but still too bossy for me, and downright heretical in some spots.
I want to defy gravity and fly. This course does not address this, but tells me that if I get sick it is my own fault.-That a person would choose to be sick to defend yourself from truth.
I never liked ideas that blame sick or poor people for thier circumstances.

 Quoting: rachel 529732

Marriane williamson did not write the course, she just applies the principles differently. She does not have her own "course"
