Quoting: Anonymous Coward 648269The 'Bible' was NOT JUST edited and reedited by men, it was WRITTEN by men, with NO 'inspiration' by God at all. And as to the rest of this piece of Christian revisionism, it is JUST as much nonsense as the initial assertions. . AND WRITTEN ~300 YEARS AFTER J.C's DEATH. |
Dann User ID: 50184000 United States 07/16/2014 08:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Nicaean Creed... ... was the primary 'philosophical' or 'religious' product of the Council of Nicaea(CoN). And, as stated in the video opening, the original 'political' reason for calling the Council of Nicaea was also achieved, and Constantine gained a loyal following of "Christian" philosophers and their disciples. However, the Creed was a complete departure from the Hebrew/Judaic concept of God. The Old and New Testament tell of a Caring God, described as being "Our Father". Through the scriptures prophets mention his head hands bosom feet and many other parts of a corporeal being. Christ never once took upon himself the title of Father or the parenting role, always referring to his followers as Brothers and Sisters and not Christ's children. Some of his last words were: John 20:17 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. So a PHYSICAL ("touch me not")("tell my brethren") resurrected Christ was going to His Father, our Father, who he earlier claimed to be just like him.???? Yet the CoN produced a Creed that states that God and Christ are "one" being and that the same God is "without body, parts or passion". THAT is NOT a description of the Judeo-Christian God of the Bible, but of some other entity, either real or imagined. That is the impact of the Council of Nicaea. It was and is a political "con". |
